We wake up cold, our bones ache, and the only thing keeping us from shutting our eyes again is the fear of being yelled at by our boss for getting to work late. A good night’s sleep can do wonders for our productivity and mood, but it’s not guaranteed every night and we need to do different things to help ensure that we get a good night’s sleep.

So let’s take a look at some of the top ways to ensure a good night’s rest.

Fragrances Line all day for affordable perfume samples!

While I'm trying on these samples, let me jot down my thoughts on them so I can remember them for later. I posted about these on Instagram a few weeks ago (because that's where people ask me the most about my fragrances), and now I want to add them here as well. Just recording my thoughts, so I remember how I felt about these fragrances later. Sampling has become a big part of my life as has collecting perfumes that I really enjoy. If you'd have told me this would happen a few years ago, I'd have laughed at you. I've always liked perfume, but I've never been one to flip cartwheels over fragrance. In fact, there were times in my life that I went years without even owning a bottle of perfume (gasps). That has certainly changed (she says as she wraps her body around the couch to try and get into the back of it where her sample fell through a corner crease but there is no opening at the bottom for it to come out).

These samples came from Fragrances Line. They have fast shipping and great customer service. They also have an extensive selection of fragrances, including a whole lot of niche scents that are not always to find. I appreciate that for sure and that's why this sample house is one of my favorites.

I purchased 5 samples this go around. I'll list them in alpha order.

The Perfumed Court Samples

I started falling in love with perfume in 2020 when we were stuck at home during the pandemic. There was something exciting about getting samples in the mail to try, especially if they were of the kind of fragrances that are hard to find in the stores (and at the time, we couldn't even get into stores, unless it was to buy groceries...or to hunt down the ever-elusive packages of toilet paper). I got so into the hobby that I joined a few Fragrance groups with other people who also enjoyed trying and collecting perfumes (my friends and family can only take so much scent talk, lol) and to this day, I still find myself trying new perfumes every chance I get.

My latest set of samples came from The Perfumed Court. They always have such a great selection, that honestly they are one of the few sites I gravitate towards first and foremost before making any full-sized purchases. This visit to their website did not disappoint. I ordered 10 samples, some niche, some designer and here are my thoughts...

Please note, I have tried literally hundreds and hundreds of samples, and at this point in my scent journey, there are many I don't love. That's okay! It's part of the sifting process that leads me to the ones I really love (and I really enjoy the search).  

Also note, just because I don't love something doesn't mean you won't. There are so many I don't care for that many love. If you're interested, try a few and see what you like for yourself. :)

Every single year for as long as I can remember, I've put candy in the kids' stockings. A lot in the grown kids and a little in the grandkids', but this year that's going to change. Actually, I was in the store and had all of the usual choices in my cart and I looked down and asked myself, 'why am I buying all of this candy?' Because that's what I've always done. What a dumb reason. So this year, I put all of the candy back (except the chocolate covered oranges, those stay for sentimental reasons) and am purchasing more practical, useful things that will last all year long. Use Halos to make edible holiday crafts!

Halos are my jam. I like to have them at home because they are easy to peel and they taste delicious. I like to take them to work because I teach and the kids always want something to eat. Better to give them something good for them, than to overload them with sugary treats...and they love them! So...this year for Christmas, what's a better gift for the classroom than a tree made of Wonderful Halos? Talk about bringing something that will get them excited. My strategy...make the tree, put it on my desk and count the time until someone asks if they can have one. Pretty positive that even 5 minutes won't pass before I get the request, lol.

This is one of the posts from my Instagram account. The little sample sizes fit so nicely in the tree. the bigger one is there just for the photo. I'll be wrapping that one for my BFF and she is going to love it!! Long since a Juliette Has a Gun, there are still a couple in here that she hasn't tried yet.

Kids Create Their Own Christmas Ornaments: How TREEmendous!

Okay, so sometimes there are items that I get every single holiday, or take out to use every single year, and being a blogger, I always think, well, I should write about that since I really love it so much. I'm wrapping it today and gifting it to my daughter.

I don't know about you, but my job makes me tired. I love it (most days) but it can be very challenging. A prime example, one of my students fell into my arms yesterday, crying and so upset. I teach teens and they do love to come and get a hug (which was initially surprising but now it is endearing), but this was different. She was snotting and crying and so unhappy. I'd felt fine up until that point, but on the way home, had to pull over on the interstate (it wouldn't hold) because I was sick. Could I have caught it and gotten sick so quickly, or was it a coincidence? I don't know, but here I am home sick today, super tired and definitely in need of a quality massage.
