$10 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway: Highway 60 in Theaters

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I was mildly interested when I heard about the new movie coming out called Route 60: The Biblical Highway. I do enjoy a good documentary, especially if travel is involved. When I watched the screening of it though, I was blown away. It was SO good that I watched it again, immediately. It is jam-packed full of information but presented in a way that is so compelling.

Wordless Wednesday: Covid Strikes Again

Covid got me.
I sent a picture of the positive result to my grown kids.
One sent a message back saying he thought it was a pregnancy test. ๐Ÿ‘€
That's a little past my time, my love. ๐Ÿ˜†

I'll be around to visit per usual, but I'll probably be late.
Sandee, can you add my link to your list (please)? ๐Ÿ’–
I'm going to get some rest. This 5 minutes has all but worn me out. Silly Covid.

Camp Hideout in Theaters Sept 15 plus $100 Fandango GC Giveaway

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Let's talk about the upcoming new movie: Camp Hideout starting Corbin Bleu and Christopher Lloyd.

The story starts off a little ambiguous but when the mom's boyfriend makes his exit and the police show up, it's not hard to guess – that the main character Noah is left on his own. Fast forward to his teen years, and Noah's choices take a downward spiral as he ends up hanging out with some shady characters. These crooks want him to steal something from a business building, and he actually goes through with it. But things start to go even more south when he gets caught by building security. He barely escapes and ends up on a bus he was scheduled to catch, headed to a summer camp. The trip is one that his social worker cooked up as a last-ditch effort to keep him out of trouble.

No surprise, Noah doesn't exactly fit in at this sunny camp. To make matters worse, he's got to deal with a fellow camper his age who seems to have it out for him from the get-go.

What Noah doesn't know is that the sketchy guys he got mixed up with are still after him for what he stole (and still has on his person). But here's the what's developed – Noah has come to care about his new camp buddies, and in order to protect them, he decides he has to run away from camp.

Join in to see the twists and turns that follow.

Tickets are available soon for this family film

that airs in theaters starting September 15th.

Fandango Gift Card Giveaway: The Hill tickets are on sale now!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I've always been a huge Dennis Quaid fan, so I'm very happy to see he's starring in a new movie: The Hill. The storyline on this one captured my attention. Who doesn't love a good underdog story?

After getting kicked out of his church for asking town members not to smoke or chew tobacco during Sunday service, Pastor Hill loads his family into his car and his furniture on top of it. Only to find himself on the side of the road out of gas. Upset, he prays for a sign and gets a flat tire and a thunderstorm that soaks his furniture and his family to the bone.

Of course, things work out the way they are supposed to as the people who come to their rescue offer them a job pastoring the neighboring city's church. The youngest child wants to play baseball but the braces on his legs make his father hesitant to let him try. Of course, when the dream is in your heart, God always finds a way.

You can buy tickets NOW!

How To Be More Relaxed During The School Summer Holidays

This is a collaborative post. Please welcome today's contributor.

The long summer school holidays are something that a lot of people initially look forward to. Whether you’re a teacher or a parent (or perhaps both), you’ll be excited that there isn’t any more homework to help with, and you don’t have to get up so early to get everyone ready for school. You won’t even have to leave the house some days, depending on where you work and what the kids are doing. It all sounds wonderful, but then it happens, and after a few days, no one really knows what to do, and it can all get very tense. The good news is, even if this is what usually happens, you can stop it and make those weeks off school over the summer something to enjoy. Read on to find out more.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: School Days

I switched schools this year to be closer to home.
At the interview I was told I'd come in with the 7-year teacher salary that I was making at my old job.
At HR I was told I come in at starting pay, period (a few thousand less than I make made).

Then, I was told I have to wait an extra 2 weeks for a paycheck
because the onboarding process took so long.
That was an unexpected surprise.
I haven't had a paycheck since June. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜–

Thank God for the Fleas! $10 Amazon Gift Code Giveaway

Disclosure: Many thanks to The Hiding Place LLC for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

As a child, I was a voracious reader who devoured anything in writing that was in my path, including the selections on my mother's bookshelves. One of those books was Corrie ten Boom's, "The Hiding Place."

The ten Boom family was a typical loving brood, who were pretty much volunteered by circumstance to provide shelter to Jewish refugees at the height of World War II. It was a role they embraced without hesitation, and of course it was not without consequence. Severe consequence.

Road Trip with Grandma (I brought the plushies)

Disclosure: I received sample product(s) or a discount code to use towards the purchase price.

Grandmas are always popular, but let me tell you this, they are even more popular when they show up with stuffies in the car, especially when they're cute like these plush animals are... And I'm all about being the popular grandma, so I've loaded up the stuffies, put on their seatbelts (of course) and we are on our way to see the grandbabes.

Wordless Wednesday: My First AI Photo

This photo was generated with AI. I requested what I wanted, and then asked for revisions. It was created in seconds. Literally seconds. It's not perfect by any means. The trees look fake, the dog's legs could use improvement, etc. Still, I think it is amazing that you can say, 'dog jumping onto a raft in pool, with family and friends watching' and it will create the photo for you in seconds. Literally in seconds.

What a remarkable (if not slightly unsettling) thing. Have you tried AI photos yet?

New Crisp and Woody Unisex Fragrance to Love: Be Earnest

There's no denying that I've developed a deep passion for fragrances. There are so many that I call "favorite." I must confess, however, that I don't have a single type of fragrance that I adore. The abundance of options out there, with new ones emerging constantly, makes it nearly impossible to choose a type (though I do seem to have more gourmands than anything else). What has been missing from my collection, is a nice selection of woody fragrances. Until now, I had one. Period. And I really enjoy it but I wanted more in that genre. Now I have added a new one: Rosy & Earnest's "Be Earnest" and I love it!

Sound of Freedom FREE Movie Ticket Giveaway

I thought Sound of Freedom was going to be difficult to watch, only because it brings to light the atrocities associated with the trafficking of children. It is based on the true story of a federal agent, who in the regular practices of his job, saved a boy who was being trafficked. Of course, such scenarios tug at your heartstrings and make you feel sick.

The concepts were hard, for sure, but it is tastefully created so that you don't have to endure what is implied, and this is a wonderful movie. "Wonderful" for the storyline, but I also use that word because it does bring an awareness to the viewer of how fast this crime is growing and why. The answers are not pretty, but things cannot grow in the light as well as they can in the dark, so awareness matters.

There's a lot of anticipation for the new Barbie moving coming out in July and an uptick of people loving pink. I've ALWAYS loved pink, and while I may or may not see the Barbie movie (I do like Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling), I do love all the pink pen and stationery available at Pen Heaven

Wordless Wednesday: Snoopy Who?

Another that I found on social media and it made me laugh.
Many of my high school students wouldn't understand (hence the post title).
๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿงก

Here's the cartoonist's website if you want to take a look.
I looked him up after seeing his name on the drawing.

He's very talented.
Makes me think of our beloved Wombania
(if you know, you know! Hi Binky!)

And now my WORDLESS Wednesday isn't very 'wordless,' is it?

UPDATE: for those who didn't realize,
Snoopy used his house for all 3 things.

Embracing Simplicity Can Help You Unwind

Disclosure: I was provided samples items or a discount to use towards the purchase of discussed items. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Welcome to a blog post where we delve into the curious phenomenon of juggling multiple tasks simultaneously and thriving in the chaos. Yes, it may seem strange, but I know there are more of you out there who share this peculiar trait, right? However, even the most adept multitaskers among us occasionally find ourselves in need of decompression. We all do! And when that moment arrives, my personal retreat to tranquility lies in embracing simplicity. Picture a blissful bubble bath or a soothing shower, followed by slipping into my cherished Hello Mello satin jammies. Adding a touch of relaxation with a delightful fragrance (because who doesn't adore fragrances?), I might then embark on an activity with no educational or work-related value—a moment that is exclusively and unapologetically for me. Often, this involves treating myself to a purifying face mask or indulging in the selection of a stunning nail color, allowing me to pamper myself with a mini manicure and pedicure. These cherished moments of self-care serve as a simple yet powerful means of rejuvenation, effectively refreshing the mind, body, and spirit.

Sound of Freedom in Theaters July 4th

Every time we go to the airport we hear regular announcements on the intercom warning about child trafficking. I'm always a bit taken aback. Is it that prevalent that they have to keep announcing it? It's unnerving to me. And it's ugly to look at... but if it's not looked at and brought to light, won't it just continue? God bless those who step up to do their part to help. Nothing is more precious than a child.

Sound of Freedom, based on the incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death. #SoundOfFreedomMIN

Bizyboo: Car Rides will Never be the Same Again

Disclosure: I received some Bizyboo samples to help facilitate the review. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Once upon a time, in a land where car rides seemed to stretch on forever, lived a kid named Oliver. Oliver was embarking on a particularly looong journey with his family, and he couldn't help but feel bored out of his mind. The hours ticked by, and the scenery outside the car window seemed to blur into a monotonous blur of trees and fields.
