FullOSun Multi Dinosaur 3D Light Giveaway

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

FullOSun 3D Lamps are the coolest nightlights I have ever seen. There are many themes to choose from, but this one is really nice because it has mulitple lights that you can interchange. This Dinosaur Set is also the one that a lucky winner will get to call their own.

Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach South Carolina

We opted to go on vacation this year during Thanksgiving. My grown kids all have families of their own, and it's still my most favorite thing for us all to be together, but there are now spouses and significant others to consider, and they have things they want to do with their families too...so, off we went. I wasn't sure how the weather would be in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (having only been there once in the summer) in late November, but it was actually very pleasant. Sweatshirt/light jacket weather, in fact. That meant we were free to get out and roam a bit. Our hotel, The Caravelle, was right on the beach, so of course we spent some time walking the sand. We also ventured off to explore a few times, and one place we ended up was Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach.

Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach SC

This is not a sponsored post. Just writing about something we enjoyed on our most recent trip.

Sometimes when you wander around a place where you are visiting, you run into the greatest of things! On our most recent trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we came across Broadway at the Beach and we loved every minute of it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, that we went back again the next day.

Kitty Cardboard Gives All New Meaning to the Cardboard Box!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

So for every single thing that has a box this holiday season, and SO many things have a a box...the cat has decided to inspect them, and sometimes sleep in them too. Every.single.one. It's cute. So cute, that we have a hard time getting those boxes out of here and to the recycle bin!!! Honestly, we just want to keep them for her, but who wants ugly cardboard boxes hanging around in their living room? Not I. My tolerance level for them never lasted longer than when she would jump out to mosey around (or nosy around, I should say) another part of the house for awhile. She never seemed to notice that I took 'her' boxes away. She's pretty chill like that... and rolls with it. We really did hit the jackpot for finding a cool cat.

Custom Advertising Options with Banner Buzz

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

What's all the buzz about? Well, it's about this awesome website, Banner Buzz, that lets you make signs, banners, magnets, etc. I have utilized it to make a banner with a magnet on the back that stick to the door of my son's car. I wanted him to put his picture on it (you can customize them any way you'd like) but he ixnayed the icturepay. It's his business and his car, so I let it be. ;)  He opted instead to put the business name and phone number, getting the dual set that gives him one magnet for each side of the car. These are sturdy, high quality magnets for the car, that are going to withstand the weather and do their job well.

Wow that's Wild! T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station in Myrtle Beach

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

There is a place to visit in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, that you might not think of off the top of your head, but it is so worth the time to do: T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station. We did the photo opportunity, which is one of the several options available to the public at Doc Antile's Myrtle Beach Safari. Two of the other big ones, which were not in season when we were there, are the once-in-a-lifetime day and night safari tours (children must be at least 6 to go on safari). Those tours are not inexpensive, but they were absolutely RAVED about by everyone who took them and shared online in reviews. The common consensus by those writing the reviews was that it is something they never thought they would be able to do in the U.S., and it was worth every penny.

National BestSeller: Be Fearless!

With some fearless children of my own who have forged great paths for their lives, I find myself inspired at times to do a touch of the same. Most of the time, I just opt for security (I like having a steady paycheck and knowing how much it is going to be, and that it is going to pay the bills), but every once in awhile, I will think beyond. For those who do more than think...for those who do!, my hats off to you for your failures and your successes, for one is often the stepping stone to the other!

3 Unusual and Creative Gift Ideas for Kids!

Sometimes we come across the coolest of ideas for gifts and want to share them with you. These are unusual and awesome, and something I'd love to play with myself. Who can resist the idea of writing messages to their children on their nightlights, so they have a sweet message to see while they are falling asleep (and yes, I am that mom that wrote chalkboard "I Love You"s on my son's lunchbox lid for years, lol!). It's soothing to children to have a piece of mom or dad when their parents are not directly in sight. Of course, these are adorable too, and as the kids get older, they'll want to write messages of their own!

If images of donuts, cupcakes and ice cream swirl around in your child’s head each morning, it’s not their imagination – it’s their night light! Just in time for holiday giving, Continuum Games introduces four yummy Emoji-Notes Color & Shine craft kits ($19.99). These kits allow you to color your nightlight and write your own messages.  When you’re ready for a change, wipe it clean and color it again.  This is a light up message board, night light and craft kit all in one.  The kits join distributor Continuum Games’ line of Lumenico SleepyLights ($29.99) that offer soft lighting for a goodnight and sleep-tight bedroom atmosphere.

If You Break Out in Song at Any Given Moment, This Game is for You!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Every family holiday used to hold games for us, but a few things changed, and thus so did some of our traditions. Don't get me wrong, we're not adverse to games, in fact, we are pretty big on them, but when family comes a'calling, or we go to see them, we usually just hang out and chat, visit, and spend time with the kids (most of my kids are grown and have their own families now, so that kiddo time is precious). This holiday, that's going to change and we're going to add this game to the family festivities. Spontuneous is a fun family game for 4-10 players, and it takes anywhere between half an hour and 45-minutes to play, so it's going to take up just the right amount of time (not too long, and not too short). The best thing about this game for me? You don't have to have singing talent because believe me, I have none (I was that child who mouthed the words in choir, which was mandatory, at our school).

Diamond Art Painting is All the Rage!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Like a combination of cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers, diamond painting is the new creative hobby that's taking the crafting world by storm. You simply apply colorful resin rhinestones to richly-pigmented canvas paintings. The result? Visually dazzling, mosaic diamond artworks that sparkle, shimmer and shine.

We love the Comfy!! Right Now You Can Buy One Get One Free!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

One thing we have this year that we got last year and still love and use is the Comfy! When the weather gets a little chilly we are ridiculous and snuggle up in blankets, put on the heater, and even whine a little. We live in Florida. 😸 The other day we were driving early in the morning and we saw a man wearing one of these while he was walking his dog. He was rocking that Comfy, and we laughed. Sometimes though, we do get a little warm in ours because it is so gloriously, snuggly warm (I wish we would have had this when we lived up north, we would have lived in it!!) . That being said, the Comfy Hoodie, while still nice and cozy, is a much lighter version to consider. It comes in a variety of colors and is sure to ward off the chill of the season, without making you too hot, if you live in a state that doesn't get to below-zero temperatures. That being said, warm state or not, we still love our comfy too, and since they are having a BOGO sale this holiday season, I wanted to run my post again, from last season. Both versions (and they have a kids version too!) are stitched together well and built to last. I highly recommend picking a couple up while they have this sale running because these make a most excellent (and appreciated) present to put under the tree.

A Twist on Holiday Favorites: Big Band Holidays II

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I really enjoy Christmas music. It's nice to hear the classics I grew up with and still love, but it's also nice to hear a fresh twist on those songs, which is what you get with this Big Band Holidays II CD. This particular CD has Wynton Marsalis involved, and honestly, that's all I have to say, because if he is involved in a project, you know it has to be good. The one song that surprised me on here, was "Rise up shepherd and follow." It is a song I have heard often, but many years ago. Someone I knew sang it as a solo in church. I thought the song was made just for that choir, because the director often made up her own songs for the members to sing (and her husband, the co-director created the music). I had no idea it was a song that has been around forever and a day. What a treat now, that I can get it on CD! Know someone who loves this kind of music? Pick one up and drop it in their Christmas stocking. That'll get you a big smile. :)

For the Stockings, Classroom Treats, Holiday Parties and Santa!

It's a new day,  the start of a new week, and the final stretch before the kids go on Christmas vacation. So many people are traveling, and since we live in Florida, a lot of those travels will be in Orlando where all of the fun and sun is: amusement parks, theater shows, hotels with lazy rivers, and so on. Believe me when I tell you that I am hearing about them all, left and right. Kids are excited and anticipatory of the fun that waits for them, just around the corner. That means they are not overly focused (even though they have semester exams this week) and quite frankly, don't want to be in class. Who can blame them? Not I, but we have work to do!! One way to get them in the groove is to hand out snacks. A few of my students have peanut or dairy allergies, but the one snack that always works out well, that they really do enjoy is Welch's Fruit Snacks.

Brick Loot Makes THE Quintessential Gift Idea for Kids!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

It doesn't seem like much, but when this box is delivered to our door, my son always wears a HUGE smile. In fact, it's still the one delivery we get that has him chomping at the bit to get open and explore. He likes to see what building kit he's going to get to put together, and then of course he sits right down and gets to work (if you can call it 'work').

3 DIY Kits for Kids You Have to See!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

A lot of people say they would like to invest in gifts that the kids like long after the thrill of tearing the wrapping paper off of them has gone. These three DIY kits fit the bill. They are fun, and encourage creativity to the fullest. Best of all, they're going to be loved (and used!) for a long time to come.

My 2 Favorite Boxed DVD Gift Sets for Kids

Disclosure: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-Ray sets I reviewed in this BLog Post. The opinions I share are my own).

The holidays wouldn't be the holidays without something from Warner Bros. under the tree. This year, there are two collectible DVD sets from them that kids (and grown ups alike) are going to love!!

The first set is the new collectible Blu-ray gift set from the Peanuts gang. There's a feeling of warmth and nostalgia for me when I see Charlie Brown pick out his pitiful little tree to take back and prove the joy of Christmas is about so much more than the glitz and glamour it sometimes seems to have become. Everything from the music, to the storyline to the characters themselves encases the Christmas spirit for me, as this has been a part of my holiday celebrations for as long as I can possibly remember. The only difference now is you don't have to wait for the one night a year it plays on the little TV, you can now pop the DVD in whenever you would like to see it, and for us, that will certainly be more than one time this year. There are also the popular Halloween and Thanksgiving DVDs in this set.

I couldn't be more pleased with the layout. A hardshell doghouse, a Snoopy figurine and the DVDs make this THE perfect gift idea for kids, adults (ahem) and collectors everywhere. This is a numbered, limited-edition set.

Peanuts Holiday Collection 70th Anniversary Limited Edition – Available Now in a Collectible Blu-ray™ Giftset and on Digital

Good grief! The legendary Peanuts comic strip turns 70 and to celebrate the occasion, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release a gorgeous, collectible Blu-ray™ giftset comprised of three iconic animated holiday specials packaged in a limited edition Snoopy doghouse giftset! Titled Peanuts 70th Anniversary Holiday Collection Limited Edition, this collection includes It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas, as well as six additional Peanuts specials that are re-mastered/restored, plus brand-new special features. All nine specials are released on Blu-ray™ with a digital copy. This must-own box set comes with two additional, keepsake collectibles, including an exclusive Snoopy figurine and a Charlie Brown holiday book. This is a numbered, limited edition set with only 25,000 total sets available. It’s the perfect idea for seasonal gift-giving! Peanuts 70th Anniversary Holiday Collection Limited Edition retails for $99.99 SRP ($141.00 in Canada).  The six additional specials include: It’s Magic, Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown’s All-Stars, The Mayflower Voyagers, Play it Again, Charlie Brown, It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown and It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown.
Just as the Peanuts Gang is nostalgic for me, Scooby-Doo is the same for my youngest son. He watched these shows when he was little and he loved them all. We were recently talking about them because he saw that Scooby Doo in now on Netflix (not sure if they were before, but we just noticed them) and he got so excited. I intentionally neglected to tell him that there was a limited-edition, boxed set under the Christmas Tree this year, just waiting for him to open it. I knew he would be excited, but now that he was just coincidentally talking about how much he loved these shows, it's taken the surprise to the next higher level. What a great gift idea for the holiday season.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The Complete Series Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Mystery Mansion – Available Now on Blu-ray™

Aquabeads are Great for Children Who Like to Create

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Every once in awhile I will mention the same gift idea in my Holiday Gift Guide from one year to the next. That is because I get new readers throughout the year, and some gifts are too good to miss. One we feel that way about in our house is Aqua Beads. My babe loved these last year, and she still loves to play with this set when she comes to visit, this year. She was mesmerized the first time we sat down to put together these Aquabeads, and she still gets just as enthralled every time I pull out the set.

My Favorite Ooly Stocking Stuffers

Stuffing stockings is always fun for me. I like to pick out little things the kids will enjoy and fortunately for my granddaughter, I can fill hers just by shopping at Ooly! They have so many cute items that I know she will use over and over again.

Ravensburger Puzzles are Always My Favorite

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Have I mentioned yet this holiday that I love Ravensburger Puzzles? They always have the best designs and are well-made too (if you have had a puzzle that isn't, you understand the importance of the last part of that statment). They come in designs to appeal to every age group as well. These giant floor puzzles are always such a big hit, and what better theme for one than Toy Story 4?!? The movie was adorable and definitely a favorite of the year, and the characters are timeless and well-loved. They even have a theme-park area dedicated to them at Hollywood Studios (we visited the one in Orlando last year!).

BRIO My First Farm Wooden Train Set for Toddlers

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

My First Farm by Brio is a well-built wooden train set recommended for children ages 18 months-plus. It is an adorable toy too, that comes with a set of animals that actually make different noises when you place them in the little meadow.

Playmobil: The Movie (2019) and Del's Food Truck (great holiday gift idea!)

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Did you know Playmobil has a new movie out in theaters? One thing I love about this time of year is there is never a shortage of fun movies for the kids at the theater. That cannot be said year round!! We are very selective with what we take the kids to see (Rated G or PG for my middle-schooler, and G for the grandbabe). It's nice to take them to a show and look over to see their faces mesmerized by the big screen, and know that they are watching entirely kid-friendly content. You get that with Playmobil: the Movie (2019).

Grandma Sure has a Surprise with her New Big Cat

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Big Cat by Erma Lazell is a super cute story in a big hardback book that kids will laugh at while reading, and cherish for years to come. This is the kind of book that easily becomes a family favorite.

The Ultimate Basketball Book for the Ultimate Basketball Fan

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

My son loves basketball and this year he will get a lot of basketballs (he goes through them like water), some basketball shoes (LeBron Jaaaaames) and a TON of books about the sport. In fact, he will get more books this year than he ever has before, but that is because he has so many of them on his Christmas list. A lot of those books are going to be about basketball or basketball players he looks up to like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan. Most of them are written in middle school format, which makes sense because he is in middle school, but there is one that I know will stand out to him: Basketball Great Writing about America's Game.

This book is hardcore, all words, no pictures and it spans 8 decades of the sport including profiles on legends like Kareem Abdul Jabbar (who also wrote the forward) and Larry Bird. It has been touted as the biggest and best anthology of basketball writing ever assembled. In addition to writing for Sports Illustrated for 30 years, Editor Alexander Wolff, who compiled this book, has also written or co-written seven other books including notable award-winners. He has also received the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame's Curt Gowdy Media Award for lifetime coverage of the game. I have no doubt that this book he has written is going to be amazing. I know my son will be engrossed in this book on long car rides, and at night before bed. I also know it's going to be one of his most favorite gifts. Basketball lovers will appreciate this beautiful hardcover book as a gift. Learn more by visiting Liberty of America. You can also find this book online (such as at Amazon) and in stores nationwide.

Teach Children that Being Unique is Being Awesome: Only You Can be You (book)

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I did not receive product or compensation.

Only You Can be You is an oversized hard cover book for small children that helps them understand the importance of being unique and different from one another.

DVD Favorites for Women: Charlie's Angels, Little Women/Marie Antoinette and Cinderella Story

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

When I was little, I watched Charlie's Angels on T.V. I remember each of the girls, and I thought they were amazing. SO amazing, in fact, that I had a metal lunchbox and a ton of trading cards (which came with 5 cards, 1 sticker and a piece of gum). I know there have been a few remakes, but I can't bring myself to watch them. To me, the TV series was the real Charlie's Angels, so when I saw The Complete Series on DVD, I was definitely excited. This set is sold at Mill Creek Entertainment and it includes 20 discs on Blu-Ray, which is almost 102 hours of video. This is truly the set for the collector, or like me, the person who loved this series as a child.

Stitch People: Cross Stitch Books make a Cute Gift Idea!

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. No product was sent, nor was compensation given.

One thing I have never gotten around to trying is Cross Stitch. I know people love it, and I have a wonderful cross-stitch picture that my friend and her daughter made me years ago, but it isn't something any of us here has sat down to try to learn to do on our own. Stitch People is a company that creates cross stitch in a book, so not only is it something we can easily try our hands at now, but it's also easy to take along with us, so if I want to try a little at basketball practice, or during a break at work, it's going to be easy to access and do.

Luxury You Can Afford: Honeydew Essence Side Sleeper Pillow

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I would have thought a pillow that was non-traditional in shape might not be as comfortable as one shaped like the Honeydew Essence Side Sleeping Pillow that you see above. but it is actually more comfortable. Probably true because it is a pillow that was years in the making, as the manufacturer worked on finding the perfect design and feel/type of filling.

The Pocket Palette is Perfect for Stockings!

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

You have heard of pocket-sized palettes, but these are truly pocket-sized. Little packets to truly take with you on the go. There are many products to choose from, but I like this 3-pack of mascara, lip/cheek and BB cream best. This would be perfect for traveling, camping, gifting and so much more! You can choose the shade of your foundation, and these would be great when you really, really don't have any room left in your purse or travel bag. Simply tuck the palettes in your pocket and go! Pocket Palette has designed these so you can use them once and throw them away. No bulky makeup bag to carry, and no mess left behind because when you're finished applying, you simply toss it in the garbage.

This product line was created from a successful Kickstarter campaign that launched in 2016, and three years later, they are still going strong! A full makeup set that is one-and-done? Yeah, that has potential. I can think of so many places these would be better to take along that full-sized makeup products. Kudos to the founder and creator of Pocket Palette. Learn more by visiting their website and grab a few to gift to family and friends!

Lil Shuckies Glitzy Sea Shell Set

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Lil' Shuckies is a Glitzy Sea Shell Set that has slime, but it's geared towards girls. As an educator, I can attest to the fact that ALL students love slime!! It also has oysters.  There are different sized oysters to collect, including 'rare' ones, which my granddaughter will get a kick out of because honestly every toy she has, has something "rare." I can hear her saying, "it's super rare, grandma," with the emphasis being on the word rare. She likes to have treasures, even if they are fabricated, but this time, her 'rare' oyster will be the real deal! :)

Not to mention the case that is glittery and pink. That will make her happy too. She is a girly girl with a side of spunk, and this case is right up her alley. I can't wait to see her face when she opens it Christmas morning. This is just the kind of thing she will treasure and take very good care of; she is super cool that way (she has her own little places in her room that are designated for her 'special items.'

Children will have a blast as they crack open their jumbo sea shell carrying case to find three Lil’ Shuckie oyster shells, a magic sand package, and 60 baby filler pearls to complete a bracelet! Use the shucking tool to open the mini oyster shells and discover stretchy slime and gorgeous pearls inside. The play value continues as kids can collect all 24 pearls, from “common” to “ultra-rare”; to make bracelets swap, or collect! Super sketchy glitzy slime is inside of each Lil’ Shuckie oyster! Perfect Slime kit and craft for every slimmer in your life. MSRP: $19.99, Canadian MSRP- $29.99. Age: 4+, available at Walmart.

10 Small Gifts with a Whole Lot of Heart!

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

#1. My daughter likes sloths. In fact, we have tried to arrange for her hold one on a couple of occasions, but for one reason or another, we haven't been able to get it done. We will though, I do not doubt that for a second. Until that time, she has this great journal that is covered in the cute little critters, front and back. The inside holds sheets of paper with lines for writing and nothing else, just the way she likes it. She is very artsy, so she likes to personalize her journals the way she sees fit. This one will make her happy, and that makes me happy too. It is really cute.

SmartMax for Fun with Magnets

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I like the Smartmax magnets because they are deliberately designed to be too large to fit down a child's throat. That means there is not the choking hazard that you have with other building kits. I also like that you can mix and match pieces in the dinosaur set, to create typical dinos or those that you have created all on your own. Whose up for a new species?

Food and Beverages are the perfect size for Christmas Stockings!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Do you put food or drinks in the Christmas Stockings?

We do! Some of our most favorite items are little things to snack on, stuffed in the socks. The adults are delighted to find a McCafe Frappe (perhaps they wanted to try a new flavor) and the kids and adults alike love Welch's Fruit Snacks. We buy the ones that are shaped for the season and they are really too cute to resist. Made by Welch's, you know they are going to have a delightful fruit flavor to them (and they do!). Butterfinger makes a variety of holiday versions and we always have something from them in the stockings, in fact, I make sure to slip one of the traditional candy bas in my sock as well (hey, someone's gotta do it!) so I have a tasty treat to snack on for Christmas Day. New to me, but not new to my son who had heard of them before, is the Kinder Joy egg that has a sugary sweet treat inside, but also has a toy!! If that doesn't say stocking stuffer, then I don't know what does. It's fun to have a little something-something inside the stockings, next to the other wrapped goodies (we don't wrap these), and these are all wonderful suggestions the recipients will enjoy.

For those who have an entrepreneurial spirit on your list of who to buy for this year, It's What we do Together that Counts: The BIC Alliance Story, by Earl Heard could be a great addition to their bookshelves! It is an inspiring faith-filled book of how a man worked hard and truly went from rags to riches. It is a classic story that inspires dreams, and it's also not overly large, so it is a fairly fast read, and one that you will likely turn to again for guidance and inspiration.

It’s What We Do Together That Counts: The BIC Alliance Story is a true story about Faith over Adversity, Perseverance, and Entrepreneurship. Meet Earl Heard, Founder/CEO of the BIC Alliance, a top industrial media publisher and faith-based film/TV producer. Learn how he’s gone from Rock Bottom to become a successful entrepreneur. Shared in this book you will find 11 Earl’s Pearls of Wisdom, 100 tips for achieving peace, happiness and success in your life and business, plus success secrets from the experts.

I like stories with a happy ending, even more so if they're non-fiction, and this one is definitely true! Kudos to Heard for the hard work he did to achieve success; even more accolades to him, for sharing how with us. You can purchase this book online (including at Amazon) or in retail stores nationwide.

Books are a staple for holiday gift giving. I always make sure the children in our family get a big, beautiful hardback book full of great illustrations and an engaging story line. If you like to do the same, I have found several really good options and will share them here. Around the Table that Gradad Built is a great choice. It is a wonderful testament to the power of family and traditions. Walk through the things this family loves and see them through the eyes of a child.

Well...these gifts from Yulu Toys are Going to Happen

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

A good friend of mine has a young girl who asked for a fishing game and snot for her Christmas gifts. The fishing game, mom is down with, but the snot??? She is not. Hahaha. The child, however, will not stop talking about how cool the latter is, and how her friend brought it to school for show-and-tell and everyone loved it so so much, and so now because it hasn't been a fly-by-night request, mom is reconsidering. I find the whole thing very funny, and I'm secretly glad my granddaughters like girly toys. ;) What I told my bff, is that I have games similar to the ones she is talking about, and another for her son, if she'd like them to gift to her little ones (from Santa, of course).

Here are the toys I have, all from the same company: Yulu Toys:

The fishing game Fish for Fish, is one where you design your own fishing spears, using the non-sharp ingredients included in the game.

Top Gift Picks for Older Toddler to Tween

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Buying for the littlest kiddos is a piece of cake. That is not always true for the older ones. Sometimes buying for them can be a bit challenging, especially since their tastes and preferences at that age seem to change so quickly. Some things though, are staple items that are timeless and always well loved. For boys, my top pick is the Discovery Galactic Fizzing Dig from Horizon Group USA. Of course, girls will love this one too, but my boys always had a natural bent for experimentation and discovery. This kit piques a natural love of discovering their inner archaeologist as they unearth 6 real gemstones included in the kit. It is recommended for ages 12+

  • Exciting reveals: dig your way through vibrant and fun shaped digs or place them into a bowl of water and watch a fizz, pop and bubble Reaction take place to reveal the gemstones
  • Learn to use excavation tools: 3 excavation tools included to get a real feel for digging and chiseling away
  • Fun fizzing dig shapes: Includes 3 colorful and fun shaped fizzing digs including a planet fizz dig, an asteroid fizz dig, and Star fizz dig
  • Identify gemstones: take a closer look at the patterns and colors of each gemstone using the magnifying glass like a true Gemologist

The Squishy Diary from It's So Me! is recommended for children ages 6+, but I can see tween girls loving it oh so very much as well. The inside has 60 lined sheets of paper to write your most personal thoughts. Stickers and a unicorn pen are also included. It's the squishy soft pink unicorn cover that will really have the gals swooning. My granddaughter is 6 and she would LOVE this. My niece is 12 and she would love it too, equally, if not more!

  • Express yourself as you pen down personal goals, cherished memories, and exciting stories with the It’s So Me Squishy Unicorn Diary!
  • Squeeze and squish your unicorn cover, as you open up your diary to reveal 60 lined sheets all about you!

Both of these ideas are great for gift giving. I am happy to recommend them both to you!

Everyone I know has either dropped and broken their phone, despite having an awesome case, or they know someone who has; seeing someone with a cracked screen is unfortunately, not abnormal. One way to help is the touchscreen purse from Save the Girls. Why the name? Because 10% of all sales are donated to Breast Cancer Research.

Aware that breast cancer afflicts one out of eight women and will kill more than 42,000 in the U.S. this year, according to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Lange started her donations to Breast Cancer Research her first full year in business. Lange is part of a new type of socially responsible entrepreneurs who believe that commerce, invention and charity are not mutually exclusive. How Lange’s company came to be answers how she decided to focus her charitable contributions to Breast Cancer Research.
