Visiting New York City? Take the Time to go see STOMP!

Here is the last of the 'he said/she said' reviews from my son and his girlfriend who just got back home from a European holiday that they ended with a stay-over in New York City. There were a few thousand things they wanted to do while they were in the Big Apple, though time would only permit a few, all of which turned out to be favorites; strolling Central Park, eating NYC's pizza (it's so good!) and seeing STOMP! the live show where artists invigorate and inspire by creating music out of every day things.

One Last Summer Hurrah? Daytona Lagoon is Amazing!!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

If it had been just a water park, it would have been fine; great in fact. BUT it was so much more!! Daytona Lagoon has pulled out all of the stops and in addition to the awesome water park complete with crazy slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, an area for tots and more, they also have things like inside obstacle climbing (with zip lining), an arcade to make even the big kids happy, go-karts, rock climbing, lazer tag and mini-golf. It's truly a great way to spend the day, and a most excellent way to have one last hurrah before school begins again.

Eliminate Stale Air and Odors even while you Vacation: Febreze Tower Air Purifier

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Changes since Honey moved in: Sheets on the couch (so it isn't used for a scratching post),
a house sitter and a Febreze Tower Air Purifier running full-time during our vacation.

See how the couch is covered with sheets these days? That's because this little honey thinks the material is a great big scratching post!! Never mind that she has scratching posts of her own. 😻
We have had her less than a year (I'm not sure of the date, I need to check our receipts and get it on the calendar so we can celebrate her anniversary!), and we love her so. It's like she's always been a part of the family. There are a few adjustments we've had to make though, like sheets on the couch, hair balls (ew! my first introduction to them, our other older cat we took in never coughed those up!), and her litter!! She buries, but oh my goodness does she ever go! We've tried to gently change what she's eating, altering amounts (yeah, that's not happening, the only time she meows is when she wants food, and boy, does she meow), and even mixing up the times she is fed. No change. Nada. I guess she's just a big pooper, lol. Sorry there was no delicate way to say it. So when we went on vacation, I was a little worried. Yes, we had a house sitter we trust, but you never know how that's going to turn out when it comes to scooping litter. Would the house sitter scoop twice a day? Daily? Every other day (gasp?!). I was worried what the house might smell like upon our return. Turns out, I didn't need to worry.

An Inside Look at The Roman Guy Colosseum Ground Floor Tour

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated however, are genuine and belong to the authors. Post written by my 2nd oldest son and his girlfriend.

My son and his girlfriend have graciously offered to do another he-said/she-said write-up for me, regarding their recent trip to Europe, which included a few days in Rome, Italy. They used The Roman Guy for (2) of their tours including this Colosseum Tour (which included the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill), and they really enjoyed and appreciated them both! The Roman Guy offers tours for all of your favorite travel destinations in Italy, and I saw on their website that they also offer tours in Paris. Today's reviewers also wrote a guest post previously about their how they beat the lines (if you have visited there, you know that's a big deal!) using The Roman Guy Privileged Entrance Tour when they visited Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel (you can read about that here). Thank you Josh and Kiera, for contributing to my site. I love it when you visit (on the blog and in person). :)

What's one way to make the long road trip more fun? Well if you're a child, HABA  Terra Kid Binoculars do the trick, both in and outside of the car.

Jet Express Takes You to Kelleys Island, Cedar Point or Put-in-Bay (from Sandusky, Ohio!) #LakeErieLove

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I was offered an item at a comped or discounted price in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are genuine and my Jet-Express-loving own.

These are the signs we saw all over Sandusky, Ohio. Intriguing, because I didn't remember ever seeing them before; albeit the last time I was in the city, I didn't go around town (it was a family matter visit, no recreation involved). This time though, we were looking for things to do that were fun because we were on summer vacation, woohoo!! This was our destination for our stop-where-we we-want-along-the-way road trip, and we were so happy when we arrived. I went straight to my mom's, visited for awhile, slept for a bit, and woke up raring to go! Of course, grandma and little man were already up, had eaten and were goofing around. They both commented on my snoozing in so long (I'm usually the earliest riser in this whole family). :) It was going to be a good vacation!

My mom brought me a cup of coffee (ahhh, it's good to be 'home') and I remembered the signs. We talked about what to do for the day, and I pulled up the Lake Erie Shores & Islands website. I'll link it here so you can take a look if you are in the area too (or will be in the near future) because that website turned out to be an online Gold Mine! The team that put it together (and as much info. is on there, it had to be a team?) was thorough. There were awesome and plentiful options galore!

My Son is an ICMAC 2018 Championship Kung Fu Gold Medal Winner!! Woot!

Photo Credit: Joe Keit Kung Fu

My oldest son is on the far right. I found this picture online while I was searching for pictures of him at his fight. He's been involved with Kung Fu on and off for many years, and was diligent about it when he was a kid. He used to be in the Lion Dance parades, and even made the newspaper a time or two (yep, saved those clippings). Now as an adult he goes in and helps train at the same place he was trained growing up (as seen in the photo above). How many ways do I love that? I can't even count them.

The First Official Stop on our Summer Road Trip: Savannah, Georgia!

We parked in front of this gorgeous building when we first arrived in Savannah.
We put money in the meter and got out and walked around.
Little did we know, we wouldn't leave the city until very late that night. It was too beautiful to 'just stop-and-go.'

There are two types of road trips. The first is the one you take with one destination in mind, which usually entails trying to get from point (a) to point (b) in the shortest amount of time. The second type, is where you stop along the way, whether it is to pre-determined places or destinations that tickle your fancy along the way. We opted for the tickle-your-fancy choice, and what a trip it's been! Part of the joy is being unplugged. No phone (unless using the GPS) and all that time in the car together is why the word amazing was created. There's just something cool about taking a summer road trip. Our first on-a-whim stop: Savannah, Georgia.
