Woolzies Review & Giveaway

Disclosure: I received a sample product to help facilitate the review.  All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Woolzies dry your clothes faster & no harsh chemicals are involved.

So many people are becoming more and more environmentally aware, moving back to basics and trying natural ideas and remedies for things that are consistent in their lives (like laundry!).  Woolzies, a family-owned business in southern New York took note and has done their part to help make laundry time more environmentally-friendly.  The Woolzie Dryer balls are 100% handmade from New Zealand wool.  They're about the size of a tennis ball, maybe just a tad larger, and they are a cinch to use.

We get static cling in the dryer if we don't use a product, especially in the winter, so I was very happy to give these a try. I like that they are hypo-allergenic, they don't shed, and they are designed to last for 1,000 dryer loads.

I also like that they are easy to use. Simply toss the Woolzie dryer balls into the dryer with your wet laundry and dry.  Don't be surprised if you notice the drying time is reduced from a typical laundry load, as the balls serve to make space in the clothes, allowing the air to get in there and dry the clothes faster than what you might be used to now.

Currently there is no scent associated with the Woolzies, but fragrant drops are in the works, I saw it myself on their website today: hurrah!

I cannot think of any cons associated with these, and I would recommend using them.  They worked just fine with the few loads of clothes we used them on. I'm happy to add them to the short list of items we keep as staples in our laundry room.

Theresa over at Theresa's Mixed Nuts had a review up at the end of summer on this product. If you want to get her take on it, visit here:

You can learn more about Woolzies by visiting their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Free iCaughtCupid Photo for all Mail4Rosey Readers!!

Disclosure:  I received the same coupon code to make photos being offered to the readers. All opinions stated are genuine and my own!

When my second oldest graduated high school, he tried to stick around. He got a FT job, and he enrolled at the local college.  But this is a small town with cold weather, and having grown up in a big city, with warm weather, he was longing to go back to S. Florida.  I gave him my blessing and he packed up and left his mama (insert bawling here, but not where he could ever see me).  The empty nest is hard, and I don't even have an empty nest!!! lol

This pic was taken at Christmas, and he got a cut across his eye just before. Isn't that the way it goes??? I can see it, but I think he looked handsome anyway.

This is my 2nd oldest child, and phrases like,  "I'm not getting involved until I'm 40, Mamma,"
and other similar phrases have been known to flippantly fly off of his tongue.

What?? No serious dating?  No romance?
Mmm hmmm.

Fast forward a couple of years, and he's doing well, is very happy in The Sunshine State, and the unthinkable has happened --well, unthinkable to him since he said no way, never, nuh-uh, and all that good stuff-- I suspect he has fallen for a girl.

Why do I think he's serious about her?

A). He sent me a picture of them together... a phone picture, but  a picture nonetheless.
B). He actually talks to me about her.
C). He went to her parents' house during a holiday to put together a jigsaw puzzle with her & her mom, instead of going out.
D). He called me just before Christmas, from the middle of the mall, asking my advice on name brand handbags (I knew it wasn't for me ;) )!!! I told him he didn't have to buy me an expensive bag, and he laughed...and then said he was serious, lolol!! I helped him go through the name brands and he selected a bag with a high quality reputation, in a style he thought his 'girl' would like.

Yep, I do believe Cupid has struck an arrow, and I for one am glad.  This particular son of mine had a girlfriend he thought the world of quite awhile back who went out of state to college (he was still in high school...enough said, but it was a tough time for him).

He then swore off serious.

See the cupid in the corner?
That makes me laugh. :)
He hasn't confirmed 'serious' to me yet with this girl, but mama knows.  And I tease him a little.  This year, I'll be sending him the picture above that he sent me from his phone (see the cupid I added in the corner?).  I'm sure he'll chuckle.  He might even save it. ;)

Making pictures with Cupid in them is easy.  iCaughtCupid has a wide array of frames, styles, cupids and other holiday-related designs that you can use to make a picture of your own.  The process is easy (and until March 1, it's free!! Code at the end of the post), I will give you a brief synopsis of it:

The first thing you want to do is go to the website:
The next thing you will do is enter your email and name:

Then you'll select the picture you want to upload from your computer.

Once your picture is uploaded you can move it around, zoom, select one of many Cupids,
and so on and so forth.
Once your picture is loaded, it will look like the screen above.  You then have the option to move it, resize it, select a Cupid, re-size or flip the Cupid (or other holiday embellishment), etc.

Example of an iCaughtCupid border.
If you want a border, they've got 'em: Lots of 'em. I have put an example of one with hearts on it in the photo above.

This is a screenshot of iCaughtCupid, asking me if I'd like to accept the photo
or go back and make changes.
And all along the way there are many opportunities to fix, correct, or start over with your project (before it's finalized).

My little sweet grandbaby looks like a little cherub to me. :)
My final product is in the picture above, and I love it!! My sweet grandbaby, from my oldest son and his wife, is about to have her very first Valentines' Day ever, and I thought it would be fun to print up a few of these to pass out to the family.

So now, thanks to iCaughtCupid, I have two cool pictures: one to tease my second oldest son with, and one to pass out to the fam. (of little munchkin) for Valentine's Day.

All through the month of March, all Mail4Rosey readers can get a free picture too (a $9.99 value!!).
Simply visit the website at
Add the code: CUPID
And you will be able to make and download your own photo for free!!

It is a fun website to play around with, and everyone gets a big kick out of the pictures!  You can learn more by visiting the website and/or you can follow them on Twitter.

Limited Edition! TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk
Store Locator

Everyone knows that this time of year, there are a lot of places that are cold.  My family and I undoubtedly live in one of those places. With the windchill factor dipping below thirty (degrees F) on multiple occasions already this year, school being out for bad weather several times since Christmas, and the cold being so challenging at times that there were news warnings to stay inside at all costs...our family knows cold!!

TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk

Now that it's warmed up a bit (right now it's a balmy 16 degrees!), we've been able to get out and play, but let me tell you, it's still c.o.l.d.!  That means that it doesn't take long at all for the kids to come in, and want something to drink that's going to help warm them back up.  TruMoo, a long time favorite brand of chocolate milk, now has a delicious Chocolate Marshmallow Milk that just hits the spot!!

TruMoo Chocolate Marshallow Milk
Nice and warm in the tummy, and a real hit with the kids!

Made with no artificial growth hormones and no high fructose corny syrup, TruMoo is both nutritious and delicious!  With the new Chocolate Marshmallow Milk, we warmed it up and put it in child-sized mugs. Bend at the Hips, People!

Did you ever notice when you're injured that everything you need to go about everyday life is in the exact position you need to NOT get into?  Eggs for breakfast, bottom shelf of the 'fridge. Washing machine? Down the flight of stairs? Dish detergent when you run out doing dinner dishes? Under the sink. Lunch boxes to pack for school? On the bottom shelf in the kitchen.  I could go on, but you get the idea.

That being said, let me just say I was proud. I was in that driveway on Saturday afternoon, shoveling to beat the band. I felt like a snow plow, or even better, the shoveling queen.  I was bending over at the waist, lifting tons of snow, and twisting to throw it out of the driveway.  That big snow bank piling up was proof of my awesome effort, until it happened.  You know, the 'ohhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo, now I've gone and done it,' moment, where you know you've pulled your back.  But I was only half way done w/the driveway, and the rest had to be done.  So I finished.  Much slower, and a lot more carefully...but I finished.

And there are things to do in the house. The kids will help, willingly, but this weekend there was only one in the house, and he's 6. ;)  He did help, and cheerfully so, but there's only so much you can do when you're in Kindergarten.

Today, Monday, I'm really feeling it.  I felt like a penguin hobbling out of bed this morning, and a crow walking around.  Chest pushed out in one direction, rear end in the other, trying to straighten that back and walk tall.  Just a ridiculous sight. Go ahead and laugh or cringe at the visual, I've done both.

And so I leave you with some very precious Monday morning advice:  If you're shoveling snow this season (or any season), bend at the hips, people, and don't lift, twist, and throw.  Believe you me, your back will thank you.

Thankfully, muscle strains are temporary, and this too, shall pass (quickly, I hope). :)

Making the Right Decision

Disclosure: This post is brought to you by

Some of you know my husband and I struggled with the decision to hold our youngest back in Kindergarten last year. He was deemed ready to progress, but is a child who falls on the birthday bubble (turning 5 the day after Kindergarten started last year). He was not confident in his skills, and that was probably in no small part because he was comparing his work to the other children in the class, who were an entire year older than him.

We made the decision for him to repeat, and this year has been phenomenal!! What a joy to know without a doubt that you've done the right thing for your child. This is especially true in this case, because it was such a hard decision to struggle with at the time!

We spent the summer prepping, doing school work in the form of games and such, making it fun, so he wouldn't get rusty. A portion of my day (for earning money and doing school work) is spent on the computer. I try to do those things very early in the morning in the summer, but on the days I did have to work online, my son would be beside me doing learning enhancement with online flashcards, YouTube tutorials, and/or learning games that were fun from sites like Nick Jr.

His biggest issue was social...the confidence thing I spoke of above. I suspected that would not be a challenge this year, and I was right. He's been through Kindergarten, he knows what to expect, and he's doing so so so so sooooooo good this year.  His teacher is constantly lauding his work and progress, the principal noted in an e-mail how wonderful of an example he is this year, a natural leader in the class, and his papers (classwork) always come back so beautifully done.

Keeping him in this grade one more year was the absolute best decision we could have made for him (which I suspected and wrote briefly about at the beginning of the school year). I thought I would let you know how it's been working out, since so many of you were kind enough to weigh in on the decision when I was struggling with it initially. Hurrah for happy endings!

Spring Into Clean Air with Air Scrubber Plus: Kindle Fire Giveaway

Disclosure: Mail4Rosey did not receive compensation to help promote the giveaway and is not responsible for prize delivery.

So many people are worried about pollution these days, and rightfully so.  Most of the concerns though, seem to be in regards to outside pollution, yet there is another area to consider. Indoor air pollution may be 2-5 times, and occasionally, more than 100 times higher than outdoor levels. Sources of pollution include heating oil, gas, kerosene, coal, wood, and tobacco products; building materials and furnishings; household cleaning products; central heating and cooling systems and humidification devices; and outdoor sources such as radon, pesticides, and outdoor air pollution that enter the home. Crazy, right? And that's just a small list.

Air Scrubber Plus® with ActivePure™ technology is based on a variation of the technology originally developed for use in the International Space Station and is recognized as the exclusive Certified Space Technology by the Space Foundation in its category. Air Scrubber Plus offers the only environmental technology that is scientifically proven to actually reduce contaminants in the air and surfaces of the home.

Working through your existing heating and air conditioning system, Air Scrubber Plus uses proprietary catalytic technology to reduce dust, pet dander and odors in your home. You can reduce common smells such as pet odor, cigarette smoke, paint fumes, mold smells and the occasional burnt food odor.

The difference in air quality is noticeable; the air is fresher and the surfaces are cleaner, with an up to 99% reduction in contaminants on surfaces, like kitchen counters and toilet seats. Dust, allergens, mildew and odor-causing bacteria are proven to be significantly reduced with Air Scrubber Plus.

Our Favorite Features of Air Scrubber Plus® with ActivePure™ technology:
