Baby, It's Cold Outside

I love that song.

But really, it's cold outside. :)  Hope everyone in the path of the storm got through okay. Looks like the worst of it's gone through here. The wind's not bad at all, so the power's still on, which is what I was most concerned about.  When it's cold-cold you don't want to lose power.

It's the first teen on the moon?

Nope, it's just a snow pile in the city from the snow plows :)

Big kudos to those who go out and work in this kind of weather...my hubby, policemen, retail workers, etc. It takes a good work ethic to get out there and go when it's miserable cold like this outside.  Or maybe I just have a strict aversion to it that not everyone does. ;)  Either way...big high five to those trudging forward today, and other days like this, to keep things running smoothly.

Once the temperatures warm up a bit, lot, we'll be getting the sleds out.  THIS snow is going to be fun for sledding (and snowman building).  The silver lining in the storm, and I can't wait! :)

  6. I warmed up here today and most of our snow melted with a huge rainstorm we got overnight, but now tonight it is going to get very cold again and only be in the single digits. Seriously, so ready for winter to be over and I am with you on not wanting to lose power when it is cold out.

  7. The amount of snow you all have been getting is insane! It's the first year I've been pretty ok with being down here instead. It was cold and snowy when I was up there and my son's county had power out for a week from the ice storm. I was actually glad I picked him up and swept him away from living in sheer blackness while it was out! Stay safe, friend!

Thank you for your fun compliments this morning! Yay!

  12. My first thought: If Rosey hasn't been by Faraway Series she should go NOW. Baby, It's Cold Outside is her Battle of the Bands match-up for this time. I believe she will announce the winner tomorrow. You can get there by going to my current battle and clicking the link if you don't follow that blog.

My second thought: I am so glad I live in Florida. I used to live up north and HATED this weather.

My third thought: Yes, kudos to those people who go out and work in this weather... particularly anyone who has be outside!!!

Wow, what a lot of snow where you are at. We are way below average for snow fall this year, we have only gotten 6 inches!

    ReplyDelete

    1. We got six inches in an hour. ;) No, I'm kidding, it seemed that way, but I doubt it was that much, lol. Lucky you to be having the mild winter. I'm glad someone is!! :)

  18. We are so full of snow here, we had two snow days then today this morning was too icy so they did a two hour delay. It's icky outside. I don't like the cold weather at all so I hibernate whenever possible.

  19. Totally agree....we don't want to lose power in the cold, cold either....no heat! We do have a propane stove that will work w/o power, but it's hard to get the temp. up in the big room that it is in. Anyway, today it is about 50 degrees and tomorrow should be in the teens...strange weather here in New England too. Stay warm!

And wouldn't you guess it. Just the time I told myself that I'd embrace the winter this time and bam, it's smacking all out!
