Playmobil Take Along Sets and Carrying Cases are Perfect to Entertain on the Go!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Trips in the car (or even on a train, bus or plane) are far more fun for kids if they have something to occupy their time that is engaging and fun. Everyone knows when the kiddos who are traveling are happy, everyone is happy. Enter Playmobil. They make these great toy options to bring along, for when children start to complain about being bored (and if the trip is any length of time, they will say they're bored). The best thing about these items is they have handles that also lock them into place, so they are super easy to take on the go. This Take Along Western City is new to the Playmobil lineup, and I have to say it's pretty darntootin-great!

In this picture, it looks like this kit is huge, but I assure you, once you fold it in half at the hinges, and tuck all of the pieces inside, it is totally easy for kids to carry (and they'll be excited to do so).

The contents come sealed in bags too, so it's easy to open one section at a time, so things aren't getting lost in the car, or wherever you are deciding to use these. We started building it at home, because it came during the anticipated arrival of the hurricane, but we will take it in the car at some point, just like we did with the Haunted House carrying case from Playmobil that we built last year! It's very easy to pick up and take along, and it's fun to do that, because you can't with most building toys.

You can see the hinges connect for the front and back of the Sheriff's Office and Bank. This is important because it is what also allows for it to be so extremely portable. It also sparks creative thinking because it allows for two entirely different (yet related) things to be going on, depending which side you are facing.

There are a lot of special considerations for the pieces and parts. Playmobil is very authentic in providing functional and relevant interior pieces and it really does seem realistic when you are putting them in place. Putting it together is challenging enough to get some serious looks of concentration, but not so difficult that it's not still fun.

In fact, it isn't long at all before you start to see the scenery starting to take shape. This is the cell you put together inside of the Sheriff's office. The cage serves two purposes; one is that a sheriff's office has to have a jail, the other is it helps keep things intact when you have closed it together and are carrying the set.

This kind of building is something so many kids enjoy. When the kit comes with a lot of 'details' like this on does, such as these little blocks of paper money for the bank, a snake for the desert ground, a cactus to add to the scenery, and so and so forth, it makes it even that much more fun for little imaginations. Playmobil really does a good job of going above and beyond for their building kits, and that's something I sincerely appreciate.

Here we started to move pieces around just a bit, to start to tell the story. You can clearly see there is a robbery taking place. I wonder if the bandit will end up on the other side of the bank, locked up in the jail, or if he will get away scot-free?!!

The other item we're talking about today, that is great to carry along for fun while traveling is any one of the Playmobil Carrying Cases! See how easy it is to grab it by the handle (it's chunky and perfect for small hands)? The contents stay tightly encased inside, but it is still easy enough for little fingers to open. The contents of the package are shown on the back. With this Knights Jousting Carry Case, you get two people figures, accessories and the horse. Let's talk about the accessories!! What little one doesn't love to dress their characters in armor??? This makes for great jousting fun as it transports your child back to another place in time, where fighting with the poles was the means for taking a victory! Imaginative play always comes from these kinds of toys, and no one piques imagination better than Playmobil.

We have been loving these carry cases for a long time. We are happy to have this newly released one to add to our home collection.

  1. Making it so easy to take on the go sure is a win indeed. Hurricane sure screwed up many a plan, but at least you got to enjoy some fun at home. I vote the bank robber gets away this time.

  9. I am totally digging that old western Playmobile play set. It reminds me of hours I spent as a kid playing with similar types of sets. Unlike Pat, I hope the bank robber didn't get away with the loot ;)
