My Favorite Perfume for Fall

 

It is officially fall and for many, that means a fragrance change. While I am not one to specifically say, 'this is my tray of fragrances for fall,' and stay away from anything else, I do recognize that some scents work better in cooler weather. Pinrose's Campfire Rebel is one of those fragrances. This warm and woody scent opens with top notes of whiskey and a hint of raspberry. In the mid, you get burning oud wood and guiacwood. The dry down settles in with a luxe bourbon vanilla and some vetiver.

When you have kids, you have a lot of responsibilities, commitments and chores to keep on top of. I have to admit, I have been the worst at this... I am polite to everyone, but don't let anyone get close enough to become a friend. I respectfully decline offers to go to lunch, visit homes, go to baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, etc. It's awful, I know!! And the older I get, the more I think, maybe I should start reaching out, and let others do the same. I didn't use to be so intentionally self-isolated. My mom once told me it happened when I moved up north and lived in the country. Looking back, maybe she's right (and I certainly didn't see it until she said it). I became a stay-at-home mom, lived in the country, and didn't even try to make new friends with anyone for years. And I was content, but it did change me. Where's one place there are a lot of people around daily? Work.

Okay, school has pretty much officially started back up for everyone now, including the kiddos who have made their way to college. I saw this one though and thought it would be perfect to send in a care package to a college student. There's something about these that is just irresistible. My blue octopus has a happy face on one side, and a frown on the other. This pumpkin version has a menacing face on one side, and a sweet one on the other. It is an axolotl, which is something I have never heard of in my life until now. Look it up; if it's new to you, maybe you'll be amazed too.
