Abrasion and water-resistant vegan-friendly CAMBRIO material

Over the Mother's Day weekend, I took my youngest son and my daughter to Disney World. We went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday and Animal Kingdom on Sunday. We had a wonderful time!! I also took my new Kelly Moore bag along to protect my camera. I knew we were going to be going on the water rides (and we did), and that my regular purse was not going to cut it.

Since it was Disney, I also wanted to make sure I could take everything I needed...cash, credit card, park tickets, hotel key cards, driver's license, keys, phone and camera..but not have it in a bag that would be too large to tote, or too heavy (it's no fun to carry anything big or heavy around an amusement park). Kelly Moore has a huge selection of bags for any kind of camera, day, and/or event, but the Riverdale was perfect for what I needed. It's compact (10" x 3" x 7"), and made of the Vegan-friendly material CAMBRIO, which means it's also water and abrasion resistant (perfect for traveling, even if it's short-term travel to an amusement park).

I like that it's got just a little bit of bling.

The Riverdale has just a little bling on the sides, and a nice long strap, so I could comfortably wear it in traditional shoulder swing mode (which I did while walking) or cross body on the roller coasters (speaking of which, did you know Animal Kingdom has an awesome roller coaster???? I haven't been to that particular park in a very long time, so I did not know). The length of the strap, in case you're wondering, is up to 38" (it is adjustable).

In addition to the main zippered compartment, there are also two clear plastic pockets on the inside...

You can use your bag for a small mirrorless camera, with or without a lens attached, or use it as a bag with a small camera and your personal items (like I did).

We are celebrating Star Wars Day with our new
 First Order Stromtrooper Blaster from NERF

Today is May 4th, and it is also Star Wars Day! I know a lot of people are celebrating in different ways. We're running our celebration over here by breaking out an Episode VII NERF First Order Stormtrooper Blaster.

Is it any wonder I never beat him in a NERF battle?

What better way to embrace the love of Star wars than by doing so in a friendy game of, "Run! He's got a NERF!" No, that's not really the name of a game, but it's invariably what we all say when someone taps into my son's arsenal. Let the record show: My youngest son takes his NERF collection very seriously. :)

The First Order Stormtrooper Blaster is a front-load, single shot blaster with a spring pull back to load it. This is the latest gun my son has added to his collection and it's standard NERF quality, which in a word, means 'excellent.' Included is the blaster itself, three darts and the instructions. It also has a sight on top of the tactical rail that you can use on other NERFs you might own.

In addition to the Star Wars logo being on the blaster, it is also printed on each of the foam darts.

The older boy is part chipmunk, he has half a donut stored in his cheek. ;)
That's okay, I'll take it... I was lucky to get this shot...these boys don't hold still when they play. 

Here you see my youngest son apprehensively posing for a picture with his big bro. He knows it's only a matter of moments before he's under attack. The struggle to hold still and smile, is real. That is especially true when a 'he-he-he' warning is emitting from his brother's lips. ;)

I think this NERF First Order Stormtrooper Blaster is the perfetct way to help celebrate Star Wars Day.

Twister's 50th Anniversary is Today! #PlayLikeHasbro

You probably already know and love the game, but did you know that today, May 3rd, is Twister's 50th Anniversary?? Hurrah to all the wonderful games that have such lasting power, including this one that we love so much!!

We have a Twister game in the house. It's great fun for the kids. One of my grown children has one at his place too, so it's definiltey not just for children!! It's actually hysterical to be at a family gathering and have him break out the game. Adults who loved to play in their youth often times think 'they've still got it' and they want to conquer all in the game. Sometimes they do 'have it' still, and sometimes they don't... It's probably funnier when they don't, hahahaaha BUT it's all in good fun, a great way to get some stretching in, and a fun way to make new memories with family and friends.

The game comes with a Twister mat, a spinner and instructions. It's easy to play. It's easy to store too, and it's portable. You can take this game most anywhere!! I think it would be fun to play when you're having a family day at the beach!!

To play, each player has to do what is designated on the spinner (like putting your right hand on a yellow circle on the mat). They must stay in the position they are in and maneuver around both themselves and others on the board as each turn comes due. Elbows and knees can't touch the mat or you're out. The last one standing wins! The game is for 2 or more players, ages 6+  and is definitely a classic that is well-known and well-loved. If you haven't taken yours out lately, it's time to give it a go! OR if you don't own one....well, what are you waiting for??? This game is truly classic-style fun at its finest. It makes a great gift idea too.
