Game Night Meets Halloween: Playing Costume Party Detective with My Granddaughter

Disclosure: I received a sample product or a discount code to use towards the purchase of one.

It’s Halloween, and that means two of my favorite things collide, costumes and family time! My oldest granddaughter is coming to town, and since she loves board games, I’ve been saving a special one for us to play tonight: Costume Party Detective.

This game is everything I love about Halloween rolled into one: mystery, laughter, disguises, and just the right amount of mischief.

Welcome to the costume party!

Everyone shows up in disguise, dressed in their best spooky or silly attire. But here’s the twist: one of you is the detective, and no one knows who! The challenge? Try to figure out who’s who without giving yourself away.

The rules are simple:

Roll the die to move from room to room on the gameboard.
Reveal or eliminate characters when you share a space with them.
Stay in disguise, the last player left “at the party” wins!

It’s designed for 2 to 8 players (ages 8 and up), which makes it perfect for family game night. The set comes with a colorful board, 20 adorable meeple figurines, matching cards, a custom die, and easy-to-follow rules.

I can already picture us laughing, making wild guesses, and accusing each other of being the secret detective. (I’ll probably lose, but I’ll look fabulous doing it in my witch hat.)

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween get-together or just want a festive way to spend the evening, Costume Party Detective brings all the fun of a costume party, without the mess of glitter and fake cobwebs.

Now excuse me while I get the hummus ready (her favorite), light the pumpkin candles, and prepare for a night of mystery and giggles with my favorite little (not so little) detective.
