5 Things You Can Do Now Ready For The Holidays

This is a collaborative post. Please welcome today's contributor.

Even though it is still way, WAY too early to do any actual Christmas decorating, now is the time to start getting ready for the upcoming holidays! Start making your preparations immediately to avoid having a stressful holiday season due to supply delays and shortages.

Here are some tips to get you started.

Plan ahead.

Put your feet up, grab a cup of something to drink, a notebook or your computer, and your calendar, and do a mental inventory of everything you typically do, everything you need to do, and everything you want to do during the holiday season, beginning perhaps in the middle of October and continuing through the New Year's celebrations. Include everything: family traditions, church or work or community activities you need to participate in or want to participate in, persons to whom you want to give gifts, foods or gifts you want to make, meals you want to serve, parties you intend to host or attend, and so forth.

Create a spending plan for the upcoming celebrations.

Consider how much money you are willing to put away for each individual to whom you wish to offer a gift. If you have a written budget in place now, it will be easier for you to fight off the temptation to go overboard with your spending when the holiday season draws near.

If you are concerned about the family's ability to pay for the holidays, you should start making preparations early so that you may prevent embarrassing situations. Discuss with extended family the possibility of not exchanging gifts this year, giving presents just to the children, holding a drawing for the gifts, or placing a limit on the total amount spent so nobody feels embarrassed because somebody else gave a more extravagant gift.

Get going with the shopping.

Getting started on your holiday shopping as soon as possible will be much simpler for you to do if you follow the guidelines outlined above. If you make a list of the people you want to give gifts to and then come up with some ideas for gifts that would be appropriate for each person on the list, you will be able to keep this information at the forefront of your mind while you are out shopping, which will allow you to keep an eye out for the perfect gifts as well as sales on the items that you want to give. Do your research into retailers before ordering, for example, look at reliable Jared Jewelers reviews.

Start decluttering

Anxiety and a lack of focus are both symptoms that can be caused by a cluttered environment.

On the other hand, a tidy and uncluttered environment is associated with a state of mind that is more conducive to

relaxation and tranquility.

Getting rid of the "extra" items will not only make space for the new things that will always come around the holidays,

but it will also bring the pleasure of having a tranquil home that is decluttered. Getting rid of the "extra" items will not only make space for the new things that will always come around the holidays, but it will also bring the pleasure of having a tranquil home that is decluttered.

Plan some self care

Include some time for self-care and make holiday appointments for things like your hair, nails, and other personal care needs.

Make sure your schedule has enough for some breathing room. It is possible that having a memorable Christmas season will be

the consequence of packing every minute of the season with events, activities, and nonstop going, going, going; on the other hand, it is also possible that doing so may lead to tiredness and emotional breakdowns. Maintain your concentration on what is most important to you, and schedule time to unwind, take it easy, and enjoy the most memorable moments that the holiday season has to offer.

  1. It's always a relaxing holiday for us since there is just two of us. But it is time to plan and keep it simple so we don't stress.

  3. Decluttering. That's what I really need to do. My neighborhood free group will be getting a lot of stuff once I pull all of my stuff from the attic.
