Almost everyone knows who Kurt Warner is... but not everyone knows his story. Now there is a chance to see it live on the big screen: American Underdog will be in theaters everywhere, starting Christmas Day!

I know our local theater is always jam-packed on the holiday, so a lot of people do go to see movies after the gifts have been opened and the food has been consumed. It does seem like a relaxing way to spend the rest of the day. Have you seen a movie on Christmas Day before? Not sure if we'll go see this on the big day, or the day after, but rest assured we will be seeing it.

The star cast (Zachary Levi plays Kurt Warner and Anna Paquin plays his wife) is reason to see the show alone, but the story is one that is sure to touch hearts and inspire. Follow along as the true life story of Kurt Warner and the struggles he and his family had to overcome is played out on the big screen. It is a story of love, perseverance, faith and success. The perfect mood to set for the holiday season, don't you think?

My favorite thing about this story is that it is a story of faith. Not only faith for the star player to go from being a grocery store employee to a 2-time MVP NFL quarterback, but also faith in God. It's hard to find good Christian role models in sports... and I'm sure there are more than a few, but that's honestly all I can think of...and Kurt Warner is one of them.

Another thing that I love about this movie is that Dennis Quaid plays coach DickVermeil .Quaid has been one of my all-time favorite actors for as long as I can remember. Not only does he have great talent, but he's got undeniable charisma as well. I've never seen him NOT do a great job acting.

I can't wait to see this movie, and my teenage son, a sports nut and child of strong faith, is excited to see it too.

Are you ready to see a great movie about faith, family, football and never giving up?

  3. My boys just saw the spider-man movie and loved it. We didn't want to go, so we dropped them off at a theater not very many people go to, and picked them up when it was done.
