Spice Sets Can Make Great Gifts

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

It's true that I don't like to eat meat. I've just never liked it. Give me some veggies or vegetarian dishes though, and I know a thing or two. It does seem like it's easy to get in a rut though, making the same favored dishes over and over again. That is especially true if you don't use meat as your protein. You have probably heard the old saying that nothing will be different if you don't make any changes, so I brought home this Taste of America set from Spice Lab. Something different, bound to lead to change.

There are so many different types of gift sets from this company. The one I liked best has Classic Key West, Fiery Southern Charm, Chicago Chop, and Everything + More seasoning bottles in the box. I'm going to start poking around a bit and see if I can find recipes that we will love, that are different from anything we've had before. Pinterest will probably be where I search first (my favorite social media site for finding recipes). My son couldn't wait for me to research recipes, I guess, because he took out the Everything + More Seasoning to try on his garlic knots. I suppose him rolling his eyes in the back of his head and acting like a goober in love indicated that he liked it pretty good. He said he did.

There are so many flavors here that I am interested in trying. Someone on Instagram (my second favorite place to find recipes) had a recipe for minimal ingredient homemade bagels. I think the Everything + More Seasoning will be stupendous on those. I'm actually pretty excited to try my hand at making bagels. I've never done that before. Another recipe that might be simple and delicious to make using this is homemade pretzel bites. We shall see what we decide on, maybe we'll do both.

My three grown kids like BBQ so I know the Chicago Chop BBQ will go to the grill for that type of seasoning. The Key West Seasoning is for Seafood, so that's an easy one too... I'll use it to make fish with my oldest when he comes to visit (or I'll take it when I go to visit him, since he always makes such a great dinner when we go to his place). That leaves the Southern Charm to experiment with at home... it is fiery and smoky. I love my spices to have heat or a nice little kick, so this is going to be fun.

I'm thinking spicy roasted vegetables are in order. Some carrots, onions, bell perppers and squash. Mm hmm good. After that, I'll perusing the web for some more intricate recipes that will go well with my new Southern Charm.

Check out the Spice Lab to see all of the varities of spice sets they have. There are a ton, including some new ones like Fiesta of Flavors, Barbeque Seasoning, and the Mediterranean Collection. All of these sets would make for a great gift idea as well, for anyone who likes to spice things up in the kitchen (yeah...I couldn't resist that one). :)

  5. Well, eye rolling in the back of your head is a sure sign of a winning product. I also thought the everything seasoning would be delish on bagels before you mentioned it. I guess great minds think alike lol. You'll have to let us know how it turns out if you decide to make them.

  19. I'm a great fan of spice mixes as gifts. They are a really fun way to experiment and change up your cooking - but it's not necessarily something that one buys just for themselves. I would love to receive a nice box of various spices.
