How to Start Feeling More Confident about Your Body- Starting Today

Research has shown that the more time you spend on social media, the lower your self-esteem is. Instead of deleting all of your social media profiles, you need to try and find healthy coping mechanisms that will stop you from feeling bad about your body.

Write Down the Cool Stuff you Can Do

Instead of focusing on the things that you hate about your body, you need to acknowledge everything that your body has helped you to do. It may be that you have had a baby, that you are able to run a race or that you can lift weights. Either way, your body is your friend, and if you have low self-esteem, then there’s a chance that you have made yours into an enemy. This is the last thing that you need, so it helps to make sure that you are focusing on the positives and not just the negatives. If you are seriously unhappy with your body and want to make a change, surgery is an option. Just make sure that you do your research and that you watch videos about tummy tuck surgery before you commit.

Make a Document that Shows your Wins

When you are dealing with issues such as low-esteem and even body issues, it can be very difficult for you to remember the good things about yourself. If you want to combat this issue, then you need to try and create a victory file. Every single time you get a compliment, or when you accomplish something that you are incredibly proud of, you need to write it down. This will help you to make sure that you are documenting your wins as well as your losses.  Make sure that you review your strength file on a regular basis, as this is evidence of all the love and achievement that you might have gone through over the years.

Affirmations

Sure, you might feel a bit daft talking about yourself in the mirror and saying affirmations outloud,  but it can work. It’s recommended that you repeat a positive affirmation once or twice to yourself in the mirror every single day. This will show you how amazing you are, and it will also help you to ensure that you are not putting yourself down too much. If you are stuck as to what you should say about yourself, then simply say that you can do just about anything that you put your mind to. You need to keep up with your mantra because the more you tell yourself things like this, the easier it will be for you to believe it.

Do Something Nice

Volunteering and doing charity work is a fantastic way for you to feel good about yourself. It doesn’t matter whether you are donating a few minutes of your time or a couple of hours because it is more than possible for you to develop some new skills, and you may even get some positive feedback from your work as well. This will translate to positivity, and it will give you an uplifted mood too. There are plenty of websites that you can sign up with if you want to make sure that you are making the most out of the opportunities in your area.

  1. We sure focus on the negative a lot, but yeah, we can take a step back and see what the positive is too with our body.

  3. Great tips! For me, I am the only who can love myself or my body unconditionally so why I should hate it.
Praise your body and tell to yourself that you are good, beautiful and enough.

  4. Affirmations really help. I've tried it. They are helpful not only for the body, but for everything you desire. Especially it's effective in the mornings.

  6. I love all of these tips. I often fall into the trap of looking at myself and seeing only the negatives. It's not a good attitude to have.

  12. I’m working on this. Man there’s a lady at work that’s a tough one to crack. I talked to my boss about it. She never responds to my emails. I don’t get it, mainly because I’m only trying to do more image wise for the organization. My boss told me when she was off a week ago on PTO her whole team quit. BUT she’s been like that, since January with me. I connect with my boss. We’ll see.
