Yep, my parents and my grandparents had these back in the day.Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. ♥
My grandma had a horizontal cabinet that lifted to have a record player under the top. :)
Now that is a really old record player. Did your son know what it was?
I blurted it out right away, "Look at that old stereo!" but if I hadn't, no, he wouldn't have a clue. Way before his time. He's all about everything being digital. :)
This vintage stereo is really nice. What a classic to have in your home.
We didn't buy it, but I did admire it!
I love this! I am all about vintage things. This would be cool to have.
I like to see them, and appreciate their age. I really love to come across something like this, that I've never seen before!
I remember the old radiograms years ago heheh!Haave a classictastic safe week Rosey :-) 😷😷😷
And now I have a name! I didn't know what they were called. Thank you. :)
My husband has an old stereo in our attic that he uses every so often. That stereo reminds me of the old days of vinyl records.
My grandma had the big, thick 78's and 33's (as well as some 45s). I remember them well. :)
This is a gem.
Yep, it's a beauty. :)
That’s so cool! My grandma had one of those and I always wanted to play with it
My family had a lot of different machines to play music over the years, but this one was new to me!
That stereo is so awesome! I love old steroes like that. They have so much character to them. They're entertainment, conversation pieces, and antiques all rolled into one.
Yes, these things are all very true! I wish I'd have had the foresight to keep some of the things we've had in our house over the years!
Oh what fun.We still have a collection of vinyl records - but nothing so stylish to play them on.
I gave my records up a long time ago...and then vinyl became stylish again. Who knew? :)
I love that - those were the days.................
I wonder what the sound quality was like? I always remember my mom and grandmother's stereo systems having such great sound. Today you have to do everything through bluetooth and it's easy to get poor sound quality if you get a cheap speaker.
That sure is a blast from the past. My grandfather had a similar one.
That's awesome that your grandfather had one. My grandma had a horizontal one. The top lifted to find the turntable. I'd never seen a vertical one though, so I was geeked.
Wow! I have never seen anything like that before either. So cool!
I get excited by old finds, especially if I haven't seen the item before. :)
What a neat piece! This is a fun item to have!
I do think someone is going to be delighted with their purchase. :)
Very cool! It looks similar to one my grandparents had. Do you know anything about it?
One of my bloggy friends says it's a 78 record player and radio. I do remember the 78s, they were thicker than the 33 vinyl albums that came later. MY gran had some. :)
What a treasure! This would be cool to have in the house!Happy Thursday, Rosey!
Happy Thursday, Veronica!!
wow! Beautiful! I want one! I remember that my grandparents had one when I was little. Great memories!
Awesome that you remember these!
These are really great little works of art of beauty and grandeur that speak of history and life.
Music players have evolved pretty quickly!
I remembered my dad having this when I was a kid but a different style and it's definitely beautiful!
I think these vertical cabinets are great just because I didn't know they existed until I saw this one!
Oh wow what a beautiful piece! So retro and nostalgic...reminds me of my grandparents in Israel...
Nostalgia is part of the charm with these kind of items, for sure. :)
One of the best things about going to a thrift store is the chance to find some sweet treat like this one!
Yes, it makes it fun to find something like this in the stores!
Wow! That looks sleek. My husband would love that. He still has his vinyl collection. -LYNNDEE
Mine is gone, but I had a pretty big one and I loved it so. :)
That pre-dates stereo. That is a 78 RPM record player in the two-band (AM and shortwave) radio.
Hi there! I dropped by your place but comments were off. Happy to see so much good news going on over there, and it's nice to see ya! Thanks for the info on the radio/record player. :)
That is a great find, someone is going to be super excited to bring it home. I love visiting thrift shops and antique stores.
I don't go often, so it was a treat to come across this item.
My grandfather had one exactly like this! I loved it.
I remember quite a few music players, but this one was new to me. I always wanted a jukebox. I'm glad I didn't get one!! To big, too heavy, and way too hard to move around, but those were cool too. :)
That is so neat! I love these. I really wish I had one of them. I may need to just fine one.
It was a lovely find. :)
What a great vintage piece. I love your idea of "Worldless Wednesday", you can say so much by sharing one image!
Wordless Wednesday is awesome.
I love the feeling of owning a Vintage Stereo! Sound retro for me!
Retro sound can be good or bad. I remember 8-track tapes skipping in the middle of the song, and records skipping. ;)
When radios were pieces of furniture!
Yes, we had to rearrange whole rooms to make them fit right.
Oh wow what an amazing vintage piece for sure, I am sure amny people would love this x
Yes, I think that is going to make someone happy.
This is great amazing vitnage piece for sure. people will love it.
Probably the only one I'll see in my lifetime. That makes it standout to me. :)
Thrift store finds are the best! This looks like an awesome find!
I do like to visit thrift stores once in awhile. Usually a day where I don't have anything else to do because I take so long looking around them.
oh my that is amazing! i love it
It's age alone impresses me. :)
Wow, that is some classic and vintage piece. Not my style, but it is a classic.
Yes, it is surely a classic. I was thinking it would be great in a museum. I think it was the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame that had a lot of old radios in it, this would be great there!
wow. such as beauty. if i see this as well, my heart will be attracted. <3
I was so surprised and delighted to come across it!
Wow what an interesting find. Love this!
It was a fun thing to find.
Wow that is truly vintage. Looks like a good keepsake and conversation piece.
It is definitely a conversation piece!
This vintage stereo looks really interesting and awesome.
I was so surprised and happy to come across it. I probably stayed too long looking at it. :)
What a cool find. I haven't been to a thrift store or yard sale yet this year (still leery of catching the virus). I do miss stumbling upon these vintages treasures though!
