Amwell is Giving You a Free Visit with an Online Doctor!

This is a sponsored post with Mums the Word Network and Amwell. All opinions are my own.

What will you see with Amwell?
In the big picture on your screen (seen in my screenshot above), you will see your online doctor.
In the bottom right, you will see yourself. The sidebar will be a transcript of your conversation.
Who is that in the big picture? That is an Amwell doctor, and I talked to her online. Amwell is amazing when you have something to discuss, a question to ask, or  you just need to 'visit' with the doctor but you don't really want and/or need to leave the house.

I'm thinking it will be perfect for flu season. Inevitably everyone catches the flu at least once each season in our house. Having to drag them (or yourself) out to the doctor's office when they (or you) don't feel good at all, because you want/need an excused absence (i.e., doctor's excuse) can be a pain. Now you won't have to... your visit can be right there in the convenience of your own home, while the kids are cozied under their blankets and getting some well needed rest.

Using Amwell is really very simple, and it's perfect for moms (and dads) for all kinds of things. You can use it for information, advice, answering a question, etc. It would be perfect for new moms who really want to have a question answered, but don't want to take their newborn or little one out of the house to have to seek the advice. . My little (now big) girl fell off of the couch once where she was sleeping (before she could roll over on her own!!). She bumped her head on the coffee table next to it, and I was a nervous wreck. I took her to the doctor, where I was told I'd already done all I could do (an ice pack to the head), and just to observe her behavior and not let her sleep for awhile, to be safe. I could have gotten all of that information from home, and instantly, if I'd have used Amwell.

It would be perfect for moms of toddlers too, especially when they're experiencing something new. I remember freaking out when my child came home with a 'your class has someone with lice in it.' note. I was a young mom then, and that note about sent me over the edge (lol, don't fault me, I really was young). ;) If Amwell had been around back then, it surely would have saved me a lot of grief.

A greeter will offer a pre-recorded greeting while you wait.
When you use Amwell, a greeter will come on the screen and offer you a pre-recorded message while you wait. At the top of the screen you will see how long your wait is, and how many patients are ahead of you. You will also have the option to cancel your request if you would like, or need to do so.

When it's your turn to talk, your doctor will appear on the screen. Your picture will be on the lower bottom right corner. On the right of the screen you will see a real time transcript of what you are saying to each other. You can see and hear your doctor, and he or she can hear and see you. It is like having a real conversation, via your electronic device.

Everything is smooth and easy to do, even for the computer novice. This is a service I can see myself using time and time again. The convenience is second to none, the doctors are board-certified, and you can use this service on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Amwell offers traditional physician services, as well as visits to a therapist or a Dietician. The fees are reasonable, the doctor is 'in' 24 hours a day, and no appointment is needed. I have used this service before and I know I will use it again.

You can learn more about Amwell by visiting their website.

All Mail4Rosey readers can get one free visit to experience Amwell on their own. You're welcome. :)

Here's your code: CARENOW20

I encourage you to give it a whirl. I think once you've tried it, you'll find that it really is convenient for a myriad of things that you might come across.

Now I have a question for you. Can you see yourself using an Amwell online physician, therapist, and/or Dietician?

  1. Sutter Gould has something similar. I've not used it, but it's the newest way to see a doctor quickly.

    Have a fabulous day, ☺

  3. This is perfect for the flu season as well as with any other days. Sometimes all you really need is to consult a doctor and not go to the hospital right away, this is convenient for that.

  4. I think AmWell is so convenient. The kids always get sick at the worst times so seeing a doctor virtually is great.

  6. This is so much better than going to the docs office for something minor, and picking up even more germs from the illnesses of others. I'm all for it.

  9. What a great concept! It's not always easy to get out to see a doctor, especially when you pretty much know what you have and just need an expert's opinion!

  11. I hate the waiting room at the doctor, especially when I have to sit there for long periods of time for something minor. This would definitely take care of that nuisance! I love the idea of seeing a doctor from the comforts of home!

  14. I've thought about doing these online doctor visits but always get too nervous. With a free, no strings attached visit though I don't have much to lose!

It sounds interesting. I wouldn't mind trying it out to see how it would work. I wonder if it would be cheaper :)

  20. This is so amazing! Especially when you have just one question! I call the doctor all the time for the kids, but for myself I feel silly

  21. This sounds like an awesome service. I would definitely consider using this if I couldn't get out of the house to see my real doctor for some reason.

  24. Amwell is the best idea I've heard in a long time. I'd much rather see a doctor on my phone than drag my crusty, sick butt out of bed.

  25. I think Amwell would be great for families with young children. I am thinking of the occasional ear infection or eye infection. It would be so convenient to be seen for something so common from the comfort of home!

  26. Unfortunately it is cold and flu season here in NY so this service will come in handy this winter! Love how convenient it is!

  27. Wow this sounds great! I will have to try it next time for something like a sinus infection or cough!!

  30. I hate dragging the kids to the doctor office! What a great way to avoid taking them there and avoid more sick bugs.

  31. What a convenient service! It's terrible to have to go sit in a waiting room with a bunch of sick people to find out if the kid (or myself) is really sick - because I know we will be after that visit,

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is such a great idea especially for people who live a long way from the doc or can't get there easily. I know we could use it during the winter when we are snowed in.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've heard about this before - and I think it is a Great idea! There's been times I needed to get a dr visit in, but it was always when I cant get into the office

    ReplyDelete
  34. This is a good idea. It could come in hand too if your out of the country on vacation. It sucks tryng to explain your symptoms thtough a language barrier.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh this is an interesting idea! I'm sure it would be ideal for people who aren't mobile, or with bad immune systems!

    ReplyDelete
  36. wow. this is very nice and convenient. i need to get my daughter her flu shot tomorrow, apparently im not high risk so my dr cant give me one. huh?

  37. This program sounds awesome! This way you stay away from a germ infested waiting room and doctors office. The way of the future!

    ReplyDelete
  38. This would be awesome. Kids can get so scared when going to the doctor! Great idea!

    ReplyDelete
  39. This is awesome. We all tend to get sick here usually when there's like 4 feet of snow on the ground, so using Amwell would be really nice at those times!

  40. what an interesting time in which we live!!! I could have really used this when my boy was little, and when I babysat other kids...there's some things that happen sometime that you don't know if it needs attention or a bandaid. this would really help.

  41. It's really helpful that you can get medical advice online. This is much more comfortable and you get to treat sickness faster.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would so much rather see the dr online for small things than having to go through the hassle in person!

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is a great idea, I would like to see how it works though. If there is something wrong with your health generally you should take the time to go and see them in person.

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is an awesome service to have! One of my pet peeves is standing in line or waiting to be attended to. Having a doctor available online is such a blessing, specially when you live far from a hospital and you need medical advice.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I just love this idea. I hate waiting in line, or in a waiting room with my kids at the doctors when its for something minor and being with all those sick people and germs. This is a much better option! - jeanine

  46. My primary physician offers email contact which I've so appreciated especially if I only have a small question that doesn't require a visit. It's a great option and I'd think might be easier on the doctor too.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Amwell will certainly come in handy at my house. I am a self proclaimed hypochondriac who dislikes going to the doctor. A combination that drives me nutty. Having someone to answer my questions on the spot would relieve a lot of undo stress.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Amwell would be a great tool to have when you are sick. When my kids were babies i hated taking them in to the Doctors office and exposing them to germs for a few questions.

    ReplyDelete
  49. We actually used Amwell a few months ago. My daughter had a rash and the doctor was able to diagnose it and prescribe an ointment.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is very interesting! I think it is really good especially for people in rural areas who may have to travel further to the doctor and also for those with mobility issues!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is an awesome service idea! I have a feeling its going to become pretty big in the near future!

    ReplyDelete
  52. This is such a great service. I wish our state allowed it. I think it's really helpful to people who can't afford insurance.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I wish doctors made house calls but this is awesome. Sometimes you don't need to or can't get into an office.

    ReplyDelete
  54. A free visit will come in handy for cold & flu season! I love how people anywhere can get medical help!

    ReplyDelete
  55. That is so cool to have something like this, and to be able to test it out for free. I would have to get over my video shyness first to use it though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This sounds like a great service. It would be cool to ask my questions and not have to leave the house. Especially big it isn't really serious.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I am really interested in seeing a doc from home. Sometimes you just have a little question and you may not want to go to the doctor just for that.

    ReplyDelete
  58. this sounds great and very convenient. I know I watch dr phil and he does something similar. thanks for the share.

  59. We all hope we never need a doctor while away from home, but if we do this is a great service. Thanks for sharing!
