A lot of us give craft items to the kiddos on our holiday shopping lists, and I am one of those moms/grandmas. Imagine the surprise this year, however, when my baby grand opens her gifts and finds that her paint and pens from Bright Stripes iHeartArt are infused with sparkles!! She loves sparkles, and that makes her a girl after my own heart because so do I.
This 28 metallic watercolor kit has a palette of colors all infused with a ton of beautiful, unique, shiny sparkles. At first blush it looks like a makeup kit to me. It's pretty. A brush is included. There are instructions to mix and match colors if you'd like, though there is already a nice variety included. This is something my oldest granddaughter would love to find under the tree. She's a creator from way back (and she's most excellent at it too).
As if the paints were not awesome enough on their own, I also came across this huge pack of gel pens. This is not your ordinary assortment of pens, it is better because it is comprised of Neon, Glitter and Pastel selections.
It is actually a set I would love to gift my granddaughter, or have in the house for all of my grandchildren (and even for myself!) but I took it to school (accidentally put it in my tote bag) and one of the sweetest and most quiet students ever just lit up when she saw it on my counter. I mean she was glowing. So... I opened them up, allowed the students to use them for a project we were doing, and she was the only one who gravitated towards them and not the markers and crayons I also had on the counter. When the assignment was finished (a couple of days later), I nonchalantly asked her if she'd like to have the set since we were finished with it in class (she was the only one who had used it). She said, "are you sure?" I said, "do you love them?" She nodded yes, and I said, "Then I'm sure." She was beaming and I was happy to do something nice for her.
These are but a couple of items that can be purchased from the iHeartArt product line (ages 6+ starting at just $4.99). Know that all purchases made benefit the Art Feeds' International program, a non-profit that supplies art lessons, training and art materials to kids in need in five countries all over the world. I love to shop with companies that are so proactive in their intent to give back. They embody the Christmas spirit all year round. Check out their website to see the many reasonably priced items you can buy.
