-------------- Making The Most Of The Rest Of The Year

This is a collaborative post. Please welcome today's contributor.

The last year and a half have been very difficult and challenging so while we move into the holiday season it’s a great time to start looking to the future as we are enjoying the here and now. There are only a few months left of 2021 so it is important we look to make the most of it.

Celebrate All The Holidays

One of the benefits of the end of the year is that there was a lot of events and things going on. We have Halloween, bonfire night, Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as coming into the New Year. He may not normally celebrate all of these but seeing as we’ve had a very difficult time recently why not. Go for it and celebrate as much as you can, have family gatherings and just have a good time. You can also incorporate other awareness days and then celebrate them as well as any birthdays, anniversaries and anything else that may come. Just go all out for anything that comes up and make the most of it. If any think has become more apparent over the last two years it’s how much our loved ones mean to us.

Spend More Time In Nature

Although coming to the end of the year the weather tends to get worse and it’s a lot more chilly and challenging. However, even though the weather gets worse we still need to get that vitamin di Ennis and spend some time outside. Being around nature can be very calming, reduce anxiety and stress and help us feel calmer every day in our lives. You don’t have to do a lot you can just start with a walk in the woods or go for a simple hike with friends. Then once you’re ready to do a bit more you could even look at going camping. Camping in the winter can be dangerous so going in the autumn is a better choice. You can get things like caravans to give you more security and warmth but on a chilly autumn night, it’s very cosy to be all wrapped up in the fire going roasting marshmallows with the ones you love. Make sure when you do anything at this you’re fully kitted out for every eventuality. You need torches, rucksacks, gloves and everything else and you can get all of these items to help your company experience with ease from ecogearfx.com.

Take The Opportunity To Go Traveling

When you look at travelling there are so many options and possibilities are endless. As we move into the winter months if you are much more of a summer person you may want to go travelling throughout the winter to enjoy the Sun in the hotter climates. You may find it even cheaper in the winter as well as not a lot of people are travelling at this time. As travel and go in different places has been so restricted over the last two years it’s nice to finally be able to start stretching our legs and see what the world has to offer. It might be your first time travelling in which case you want to make sure you do all your preparations beforehand and I have someone with you who will help keep you safe, support you and make amazing memories with you.

Learn Something New

At the start of the year, so many of us make new year's resolutions. Whether we follow through with them is another story. A lot of people find it difficult to stick with new year's resolutions in January and will end up just giving up. So why not give yourself something to do for the rest of the year, don't waste the time that you have left in 2021 and use it to widen your knowledge and horizons. And there are lots of different things you can do like online courses and classes. You can also look at different apps and free teaching systems. So if you wanted to learn a new language for example you could use the app Duolingo. If you want to learn how to do digital marketing there are lots of free courses on HubSpot, Google Digital Garage and FutureLearn.

Make Your Living Space Feel Like Home

Over time and the year, we tend to collect a lot of junk, knickknacks and generally hoard a lot of stuff that we no longer need. People will sometimes do a Spring clean but as a lot is going on in spring sometimes it can be forgotten about. So why not at the end of the year? In the run-up to the end of the year is your time wisely to make your home feel like home again. You can still use the time and spread it out by going room by room. When you choose the room start by decluttering and getting rid of anything you no longer need, want and that hasn’t been used in months as it’s likely won’t use it. Give everywhere a deep clean so in the kitchen, you want to do things like the fridge, the freezer and the cooker. Go through all the clothes that you have and get rid of anything that no longer fits or that you don’t think you’ll ever wear as a lot of us have things that we’ve bought another one and it just stays in the back of the wardrobe taking up space. Especially for socks, socks seem to go walkabout and we always have odd ones instead of keeping them and never finding them. Just get rid and start fresh. Then when you get to the point in the year where you start having people over, hosting dinners and end up with a lot more new things at Christmas your home will feel minimal, neat and tidy.

We have a few months left in the year so use them wisely, don’t waste the time and focus on loved ones, making memories and just generally having a good time.

  1. I'm all for cleaning out the junk.
I'm also not a beach person, but our beach in winter is perfect because it's cool, not humid, and very few people about.

  2. We are definitely planning to spend more time in nature. It's still really hot here right now, but it's slowly getting to be a manageable temperature. We have quite a few scout outings coming up, including camping, later this month. We are traveling to visit with family for Thanksgiving but staying home for Christmas this year since we traveled last year.

  8. These are all great ways to end the year on a high note. There are only 3 more major holidays left this year, but we also have mine, Jason's and Allison's birthdays in December, which is always such a hectic time of the year for us, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

  9. I can't believe how time is fliying and that we only have 11 weeks before Christmas so I guess we need to make the most of it before the year ends! I hope to get a little more travelling done locally to make up for the last two years

  14. We got passports, but sadly may not use them with covid. We are thinking of taking the kids somewhere with a beach. They've never seen the ocean. Isaak keeps asking to see the ocean.
