Sometimes, we crave adventure. So do our kids! So what can we do to combine both fun and education? Well, thankfully the opportunities are endless!

There are plenty of fun things to do around town, but there are also a lot of fun things to do at home too.
Build a tent in the living room (use a sofa, dining chair, blankets and anything to spare!) then decorate it with paper chains and pretend you’re living in a kingdom! Teaching kids to build a den will help them with teambuilding and learning and it's all kinds of cool to hunker down inside of one and play.
Paint
If you have paint and brushes, then you can do anything! Painting helps kids to release their creativity, they can make gifts for others or art work for their rooms. It is a fun way to pass the time and help them bring out their artistic sides. You can also offer them coloring pages, mandalas or even pixel art so that they can use crayons or any art supplies of choice. It is great for kids who may be suffering with anxiety or special needs also.
Make Salt Dough
Similar to plasticine, you can make salt dough that kids love. You can then do a painting workshop and the creations can be used to decorate the house. Salt dough is a modelling material, made of flour, salt, and water. So with a little imagination you can create the dough yourself without having to go out and spend a lot of money on supplies. You can dry it out in the oven or a microwave - it is super fun!
Draw your portrait
This is a great way for children to explore themselves and others. Drawing a self portrait or a portrait of someone else, gets them to use their analytical skills, and to also be patient when learning and studying the face. It is a fun way to bond with your kids also. They can use pencils, crayons or paints. They can create an avant-garde portrait of you which will allow them to express their creativity further.
Origami is fun!
There are many different difficulty levels that will allow children of all ages to create their animals and paper objects to work on their fine motor skills and creativity. In addition, you only need paper to make origami. By learning about origami they can learn about new cultures and where it originated and how other cultures use it in their art. It is also fun and they can learn to be focused and creative at the same time.
Make a collage
Grab some magazines, newspapers, a pair of scissors, glue and paper and go! The goal here is to make edits and you can also get them to learn the importance of mood and vision boards for their future. It can get them into a positive mindset and appreciate the importance of creativity.
Do a sensory workshop
The sensory workshop is an enriching activity for younger children. Take out touchable objects with different textures, strong smelling foods and objects, tasty foods and blindfold your children. They will have to touch, taste and smell the objects in order to recognize them.
