Some of you might remember that my oldest granddaughter is a very healthy eater. She's gotten a little more relaxed in her 7-years (she now likes ice cream and M&Ms, and yes, sometimes she likes them together). For them most part though, she makes wise choices about what she puts on her plate. Her parents still don't like to have her sugared up, and so I am careful about what I gift her on holidays that typically entail a lot of candy or other types of sweets. As such, I have compiled a list below of great gift ideas that have zero calories (because you don't eat them) and the kids will love them just the same. Candy after all, is gone right after you eat it. These are going to last a lot longer, and some of them (like the books) will last long enough to be passed down from one generation to another.
1). The Yo Ring is at the top of my list. Don't let the simple design be deceiving. This is not a typical toy idea, but it is one that you can get as inventive with as you like and kids of all ages will enjoy. It is actually a blast to come up with new trick ideas for the Yo Ring and once you master the simpler ones, you definitely want to branch out and get more complicated. Even my adult kids would like to play with this toy.
These are light enough to "toss, fling, bounce and catch, any time, anywhere." That's what I love best. The thing I love second Yo Ring best, is this was made by a teen!! I'm all for teen entrepreneurial endeavors, and this was a good one. You can buy these in single or multi-packs. Learn more by visiting http://www.yoring.com One person will win the single red Yo Ring as part of this bundle giveaway.
2). All kids love bubbles but WOWmazing takes bubbles to a whole new level. We're talking b-i-g, gorgeous bubbles that are easy for the kids to make. How? Simply add water.
This is something we'll enjoy using on Easter Day and then again later in the year as the weather gets warmer and warmer and all we want to do is be outside. The fastest way to get a child smiling is to break out bubbles. The fastest way to see delighted and amazed smiles is to watch them as they realize how really, really big these bubbles are going to get!!
You also get some tricks and tips AND some cool stickers. These would be great for ANY get together or just some fun free time with our kids. Learn more about the WOWmazing bubbles by visiting their website. One person will win a Wowmazing bubble wand as part of this bundle giveaway.
3). Paint Your Own Squishy Bunny. These cost $9.99 on Amazon (the prize for this will either be the bunny itself or a $10 Digital Amazon Gift Card). Kids love the tactile factor of a squishy toy. I've seen it first hand and know the original DIY Paint Your Own Squishy Kit from Doodle Hog will be a hit with so many kiddos this Easter season...including said granddaughter at the start of this post. While sugary candy treats are not up her alley, crafts definitely are, especially squishy crafts that have a cute bunny on them. ;)
These are a generous 4" x 5" and would be perfect for any Easter Basket. There are other designs available too and if you are interested in seeing them, you can check those out HERE or on the Doodle Hog website. The squishy of choice, 3 paint pots and a brush are included with each one of these. One person will win either this Bunny Squishy or a $10 Amazon gift card (sponsor's choice) as part of the bundle giveaway.
4 & 5). National Geographic Books! Books are always a good idea and there are two included in this giveaway. These books are also right up my grandbaby's alley (and my youngest child's too). They're fun and you can find answers to so many things. Things you didn't even know that you wanted to know until you know them (you followed that, I know). :)
Why? 1,111 Answers to Everything (ages 8-12, hardcover, 192 pages). The concept is simple. Got a question? Well now you have an answer. 1,111 of them, in fact. Want to know what's on the inside of a trutle shell? The animal section has you covered. What is the deepest part of the ocean? Why doesn't the Earth just float off into space? Why is snot yellow? Ew. All of these and more are answered in the book. With hundreds of topics ranging from silly to serious, this book has the expert information kids need in a fun and entertaining format that will keep them digging for answers.
