Playmobil Advent Calendar and Christmas Bakery Building Set

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

I get so excited this time of year when I see the advent calendars from Playmobil in the stores. Not only are they created with the sturdy, high quality pieces known to the brand, but they also have seasonal themes, which makes them a great way to add to the magic that is already intertwined with so much of what we do, this time of the year. Imagine your child's joy as he or she gets to select one item each day, counting down to the big day (December 25th).  We purchase an advent calendar for the kids every single holiday, and this year, my youngest will receive Christmas in the Forest (seen above), which is one of five themes Playmobil has available this year.

At 12-years-old, he still hasn't outgrown his love of the Advent Calendar from Playmobil. Building is one of those things he has always loved to do, and sets like these, where he can create different landscapes and scenarios appeal to him greatly. He's really fantastic at getting creative with such things too. I've always been really proud of his ingenuity when he's building, and really enjoy seeing his sense of adventure come to life.

Of course, the other big thing about these is that they help children count down the days until the BIG day has arrived, and they are able to open their presents. I do not know one child who isn't counting down for Christmas.

Each piece inside is listed on the back, so you know what you are getting. You'll hear things like, "Oooh! it's the Christmas Tree we get to open today!" and visiting the calendar will probably be one of the first things, if not the first thing, your child will want to do each morning, as soon as he or she gets out of bed.

Playmobil always has seasonal kits available for building as well, like the light-up Nativity scene you see in the video above, or the Holiday Christmas Bakery with real Cookie Cutters that you see below.

This measures 10.2" x 15" x 10.2" when it is built, and it spins around to offer all kinds of goodies (literally and figuratively) on either side. The baked goodies that aren't real, slide down the chute to the waiting elf who is ready to package them up (or eat them, if he's smart). The sides of the roof are decorated with the actual cookie cutters and stamps, so kiddos can bake real sweet treats of their own to enjoy alongside Santa and his elves after they've finished building.

The Playmobil Christmas Bakery has so many cute pieces included that look very realistic. I have to admit, we were delighted to see this year's theme also has a sleeping and perky-eared cat to add into the mix. Santa and the elves have pets with them at work? Of course they do! Playmobil always makes the cutest houses to build, and this set is certainly no exception. It is the perfect way to participate in the holly jolly, holiday cheer and all of the good eats (literally and figuratively speaking) that go along with it.

For us, the building sets and advent calendars have become a holiday tradition, therefore, it is a joy for me to recommend them as the perfect holiday gift ideas. These are the kind of toys that not only spark imagination, play time and fun, but they are also the kind that help us create lifelong memories. I know my son is always going to remember these building kits and advent calendars very fondly, as a part of his childhood seasonal activities, as will I.
