Transition out of Swaddling with Baby Merlin's Magic SleepSuit

Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit has been an amazing tool to help my daughter wean her baby girl of off swaddling. Though babies like to be swaddled, most outgrow it by a certain age (usually they start to transition at 3-months!). My youngest granddaughter is close to 7-months-old and she was still wanting to be wrapped up snug as a bug in a swaddle rug (figuratively speaking, of course) or else she wouldn't sleep!

Baby Merlin's Magic SleepSuit has double zippers with covers, for easy in/out of the suit and convenient diaper changes. It has a scooped neckline to help keep fabric away from baby's face. It is thick, so it also has open hands and feet to help keep baby at a comfortable temperature.

This picture makes me laugh. I know baby girl isn't saying, 'what did you put me in?!?' but that's what my mind says from her expression and it cracks me up!!

When her mommy came into sight, it didn't take long for her bewildered look to turn into giggles and smiles.

A little time in this comfy, warm suit though, and baby girl was ready to be transferred to her crib where she could snooze the rest of the night away. My daughter used the suit several times to help with the swaddling process; it really wasn't that long at all. I am happy to report it was successful. Little one now sleeps without it, and without a swaddle. Though with cold weather coming soon, I have no doubt her mama will be bringing this out again (it is definitely safer than heavy blankets, and it is oh so cozy and warm). You can get it in pink, yellow or blue. You can also get it in cotton or the microfleece seen here. It comes in 2 sizes: 3-6 month and 6-9 months.

The Magic Sleepsuit is an innovative baby swaddle transition product that provides babies with a cozy and calming sleep environment. The patented Magic Sleepsuit is designed for babies who are ready to transition from the swaddle, yet still need that cozy, secure feeling to aid in their sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping only in the crib and should be used in a room at the recommended temperature for babies.  It should be used with the recommended ABC's of Sleep (Alone, Back, Crib). Once babies show signs they are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep (e.g. trying to roll over), it is time to transition them out of the Magic Sleepsuit.

  1. The two zippers sure are a win. Great that it worked and yeah, looks much safer than a blanket too.

  11. We'll have a new grandson in a few weeks, and this is perfect. His big brother (18 mo.) probably had something like this, but new one will have a new one of his own!

    Love this!

  12. I'd take a cozy swaddle suit over a blanket any day of the week! I just found out my niece is expecting her second baby next March. We don't know what she's having yet, but once we find out, I'll be getting her one of these for the new baby :)

  16. This looks like such a great option for baby! We didn't swaddle our oldest daughter but our youngest, now four-years-old, would only sleep swaddled. She loved being all snuggled up tightly.
