There are so many varieties of products and places that sell them that you can usually find a good substitute for something, if you can't find the original, for what it is you are trying to buy. Every once in awhile though, there is an item that you want to find, and no substitute takes its place very well at all. That's how I feel about this particular baby book sold by Peter Pauper Press. I wrote about it way back in 2012 (you can access that article here if you would like) and now that my daughter is expecting it's the only one I want for her because a). it was adorable b). it was sturdy c). it was thorough, allowing for so many entries to take place between pre-birth and the age of (5).
It is elegantly designed, and sure to become a favorite keepsake for both you (now) and your child (later). I know my daughter loves to go through her baby box and see the things she wore, read about what she did and when she did them, and see how her milestones were detailed. Now that she is going to have a child of her own in March, I know this book will be a treasure for her too, but this time she'll see the joy of it from a mom's perspective, instead of the child.
When she opened the book (yes, I gift wrapped it) she noted how 'pretty' it is, and she's right. This is by far my most favorite baby book that I have seen in over a decade. It has roomy pockets for items you'd like to store, such as the card on the crib with baby's name, maybe a certificate you received from the hospital, the baby announcement, and so on and so forth.
The information it allows you to share is special immediately, but becomes even more precious as time passes. It's so wonderful to have data to look back on to show how much baby was loved, who was there to greet him or her, what special memories the parents hold, favorite photos of the child and more.
I love that there is room for an extended family tree as well. This could prove a welcome addition for genealogy searches later in life, among other things, but it has sentimental value as well.

- Appealing design and soft pastel colors make this a wonderful keepsake book!
Like I've said, I cannot recommend this baby book highly enough. It is one we were so happy to use (7) years ago, and the only one we have considered (and gifted) to my daughter who is now expecting her own little apple dumpling. It is a precious heirloom-in-the-making and an item I am happy to discuss with my readers.
