When I ask my grown kids what they want for Christmas, I don't get a list like I did when they were little. In fact, sometimes they say something along the lines of, 'don't worry about me, just buy for the kids.' 🙄 Well, even though they are grown, they are my kids, so they still qualify as it being a given that they're going to get a gift. I'd just like some suggestions on what it is they might really like to have under the tree, instead of me having to guess. Last year, my second oldest did say he's like a LifeJacket Bluetooth speaker and he got it. He used and loved it all year long and so this year, not knowing what he wanted (outside of a good trip, since he started traveling right after the big day), I instinctively knew he'd appreciate another LifeJacket speaker, so... I got him the next size up (from the one he got last year) and he was surprised and delighted. He instantly used it to get the Christmas tunes rolling, and that set the tone for the rest of the day.
|My rugged looking son now has a rugged looking speaker, and he loves it!|
The Altec Lansing Mini Life Jacket Jolt Speaker costs $79.99 is waterproof, shockproof, snowproof, and it floats! That's great news for my son who is a very busy and active young man. If he's not out traveling, he is working, at the gym, or playing (and he plays hard too, surfing, snowboarding, etc., depending on where he is at the time). One thing he often likes to have going is his music. He and my daughter both branch out in their musical tastes, and while I once upon a time though I was the queen of musical genre variety, he has one-upped me and then some, introducing artists and songs to all of us in the family that we'd never heard of until he turned them on.
Let's talk about the features of the speaker. It lasts a good long time, with up to 16-hours of battery life with a full charge. It works up to 100 ft. away from the speaker (nice for our Christmas music), and it has a house party pairing mode option (you can hook up to 50 of these speakers together, which isn't going to happen, but I'm sure he's going to be happy to play his pair simultaneously to get a surround sound effect). You can answer calls through the speaker, and you can talk to SIRI or Google Voice Assistant. It's also rugged looking and very sturdy (there's a video of it getting blown up by professionals and still playing music after all was said and done, on the Altec YouTube channel). I know design is a personal choice, but I love the way this speaker looks and feels. This particular speaker also has a mount on it so if you ride a bike, you can easily take your music with you on the go.
The most important thing with a speaker though is sound, and this bluetooth speaker is loud and very clear sounding. It's not tinny at all and sounds very rich. The bass is better than any I have heard with a small portable speaker. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase as a gift. In fact, I'm so pleased I am considering getting a couple for our house as well. Last year I considered the same, but then thought we don't really need extra rugged speakers here. After a year has passed, I have rethought that... I have a granddchild who can be a little rough on things (she's 5, it happens), a child who knocks things off accidentally as he breezes from place to place (he's a tween, it happens, lol), and we like to be outside a lot! Plus, it's sand and water-proof which means it's going to hold up to the beach. Yeah, we need this speaker. At least one. Maybe two. I'll be using my holiday gift cards early in the new year to make the purchase.

This time of year, so many of us are using our new electronic devices and having a high quality bluetooth to hear the music, watch our shows, etc. makes good sense. Not all bluetooth speakers are worth the price they ask, and I've learned that the hard way. It doesn't get better than this one though, and it is well worth the cost (which is comparable to other bluetooth speakers in its class). In fact, this is my favorite bluetooth speaker to date. You can buy these online (there are several color options available as well) or in retail stores. Learn more by visiting the Altec Lansing website.
