iFLY Indoor Skydiving is THE Best LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEA!!!

Still looking for the perfect idea for a gift this holiday season, but you're running out of time? Don't get a run-of-the-mill 'cutesty' gift from the store that you pick up on a whim, get 'em the gift of flight instead! SO reasonably priced, and so much fun. iFLY Indoor Skydiving has locations all across the United States, and quite a few internationally. We visited the one in Orlando, Florida!

I'll walk you through the process, so you can get a first hand look at what this type of experience would entail.

Our flight was late in the evening because we were coming in from another part of the state. The first thing we did was check in and sign our waivers. There is minimal risk, but nothing we were worried about. In fact, my 4-year-old granddaughter (flyers can be as young as 3) was flying with us that day. :)  This is truly a gift or experience for most anyone! We all had a fantastic time, but I think she had the most fun. She's STILL talking about it, and I think that's cool.

There are a couple of skydiving cubicles in the room. One is inside , and the other is inside, but faces the outside so spectators can have a seat and view your flight. We were in the latter of the two.

After you check-in, they take your weight (anyone under 300 lbs. can fly),and lead you to the lockers where you can leave your stuff.

We went into a room with hand signals on the wall, a flight table for practicing (completely optional) and movie. The short movie rolled, showing us what to expect and directing us on proper procedure.

Our guide, Gator, who was awesome by the way, took the time out to give my son some one-on-one practice with the instruction sets. He did great there, but on the actual flight, he kind of forgot what all the signals all meant. It was okay because the instructor was with him during the flight and guided him through it anyway, making it fun for him instead of frustrating (thank you, Gator!).

We suited up, and got ready to fly.

They ensure you get a properly fitted helmet and flight suit.

While we were waiting our turn, we walked around a bit and discovered a party room. what a fun place for a business or birthday gathering. It would definitely be an event to remember! I think this would also be a great thing to do with your friends on New Year's Eve too (which is right around the corner and will be here before you know it). :)

Soon it was time for our flight. One last photo opp., and into the wind tunnel (probably not the right name for it) we went.

My oldest son went first. He's parachuted many times in the military, but he still thought this was really cool. You can see the spectators sitting outside, watching the flight.

The instructor came in and did a few twist and turns with him, and that added to the fun.

His daughter went next, doesn't she look like a cute little peanut in there? :)

She did great, and again Gator, the instructor was phenomenal with her, and made her feel right at home. You can see him giving her a hand signal in the photo above.

There is a high flight option you can pay an additional $10 for, and I say definitely you want to do it. There's my granddaughter way up high, and that was easily the most fun part of the entire flight. It would have been fantastic just the way it was, but that extra high flight made it the creme de la creme of fun activities.

They take movies and videos for you that you can view on the screens when you're finished (available for purchase), or you can take your own (theirs are far better than my fuzzy one you see here). You can also access and purchase them online later, if you'd like.

We really just had an awesome time. So if you're looking for a great gift idea that will help create memories, I say gift them an iFLY Gift Card!

This was absolutely one of the MOST fun things we did in all of 2017...and we did a lot of things! Visit the iFLY website to learn more. You can also follow on Facebook and/or Instagram.

Pick up a gift card or have one e-delivered (timing can be scheduled). It's a quick, simple way to delight most anyone. Have a wonderful adventure at iFLY! We did, and we absolutely loved it!
