Learning to Button, Zip & Tie? One Step Ahead has a #Solutions!

12" Soft Dress Up Dolls from One Step Ahead
When you're teaching the little ones practical things like tying, buttoning, buckling, Veclro fastening and/or zipping, wouldn't it be nice if you had a fun way for them to practice, any time they wanted? One Step Ahead has a solution! These 12" Dress Up Dolls enhance practical learning, and teach by allowing kids to be very hands-on in an adorable way.

I can see every little child in our family loving these, and their parents/grandparents too. They're plush, which makes them an instant favorite for the kids. What child doesn't love a doll to talk to, love on and put to work in the world of make believe? I know I'm 45-years-old, and I still remember my doll time as a child very fondly. :)

We received the boy doll for my nephew who is about to be 2-years-old. This doll will be great for him because it's going to help him learn how to slide buckle and/or tie with the help of these little shoes. In the photo above you can see each shoe has a different type of fastener for that practical, hands-on learning I mentioned above. You can easily move this doll too, so you can get right in there on the angle you need to practice. I can see my nephew holding it on his lap, working on that shoestring or buckle. Makes me smile to envision it, I already know he's going to love doing it over and over until he's got the skillsets mastered.

And those socks!! They're so cute. You can roll them up or down, just like the real deal. It's a cute added touch that makes the whole process of learning a little more authentic.

This cute little jacket has a working button, snap and zipper. They're all easy to fasten and help with building dexterity. Little fingers like to be busy, and this is a great way for them to do so. Once they master one type of opening, they're eager to move on and learn the next kind!

I like that the zipper pull is smooth... no catches and it's easy to get up and down. Anything else would not be acceptable on a product like this, and of course, One Step Ahead got it right. We have been a fan of their product line for awhile now, and it's definitely with good reason. I recommend OSA highly and if you're shopping for anything at all that has to do with a child/ren (you'll be amazed at some of the unique things you will find there too!).

The plush watch on the dolls unfastens...

You can see the Velcro on the back of it in the picture above. That's a fun touch because for some reason, kids always like watches!

The boy doll wears a hat that is permanently attached, but he also has a hoodie on the back that can be put up or down. Fun fact: For a nominal fee, One Step Ahead will personalize the back of this jacket with your child's name Cool, right?! That gives this doll potential to be a keeper...you know one of those items you 'keep' for your child long after they've outgrown them because they were so loved or so special. :)

You can see from the picure above that the hair on these dolls moves, and I thought that was a nice touch. The sweet smile, bright and cheerful primary colors, and easy ways to help children learn to master important life skills area all bound to make this Dres Up Doll an absolute household favorite. Plus he's cute (and the girl is too)! I rate these 5 out of 5 stars. Another big winner from One Step Ahead!
