Vacations are a wonderful thing, something that we have truly come to learn over the last year or so of lockdown. However, sometimes they can be stressful as well, especially if we aren't feeling that confident about our bodies! The good news is there are some strategies we can use to help us embrace our inner confidence for our next break. Keep reading to find out what they are.
Dye your hair
A fantastic way to give yourself a body boost before your next vacay is to get your hair done. Perhaps you will choose a new style or even a new color to give you a lift? Of course, if you do opt for a new color or a perm do remember that it best to do this at least 2-3 weeks before you will be swimming in a pool or the sea, otherwise you may end up with limp curls or a dark greenish tint to your hair, which when not intentional is unlike to make you feel good about yourself.
Invest in some new swimwear
One of the most simple ways to ensure you feel your best on vacation is to invest in some swimwear that you truly love. Of course, that means finding a style that is both comfortable and makes you feel good.
Don't be constrained by old-fashioned ideas but what you should or shouldn't wear depending on your body type either. Instead, explore everything from the itsy-est bitsy-est yellow polka dot bikini to full suits and even swim shorts and skirts! Choose what makes you feel good!
Decide how to handle body hair
Body hair and the removal of it is a personal choice, with more and more people choosing to keep their natural hair growth. However, if you prefer to remove yours be sure to have a method that is effective and that you trust before you leave for your vacation.
For some people, this will be as simple as taking a disposable razor to use in the shower, while for others getting their body hair waxed before they leave is the best approach. Still, others may opt for a course of laser hair removal leading up to their vacay. A method that once completed can be permanent and so means more time on the beach and less shaving once you get to your chosen destination.
Invest in some new makeup and skincare
Also, when you are heading off on holiday, there is nothing that can give you a boost like some new makeup. You might even want to try some more adventurous colors that will work well with a tan.
Skincare is crucial to get right on holiday too, and it's worth noting that your usual moisturizer may not be ideal if you are heading to a warmer climate. Instead, look for something lighter, but that also includes a high factor sunscreen!
Practice being kind to yourself
Last of all, before you head off on vacation one of the best things you can do to give yourself a boost is to practice saying kind things to yourself. With that in mind, find some things about your body that you like and praise them every day. Indeed, this one is good advice whether you are heading off to foreign shores, or not!
New hair and makeup can really make you feel so good. It's like a rebirth almost.
ReplyDeleteI love these ideas. I think laser hair removal would be amazing. I'd love to not have to shave anymore.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list. I can use these when it's finally alright to travel.
ReplyDeleteI need to have a haircut, something that would be easy to manage, but still long enough to tie in a ponytail. Getting new swimwear is also a good suggestion. Once we are ready to resume travel, I am going to follow your advice.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to get ready to take a trip. Get your hair done, get a facial, buy some new clothes. I agree with this post -- thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe just got back from a week long vacation. I need to do all of these things.

ReplyDeleteI think investing on new swimwear is a good decision. Also maybe do exercise? The pandemic added some weights on me.
ReplyDeleteNew hair, makeup and clothing always makes me feel extra special when we go on a trip!
ReplyDeleteI bought new swim wear for going away this year to Spain but it was ultimately cancelled. But at least I have them ready to go for next year!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry to hear the trip was cancelled.

ReplyDeleteThis made me smile! Although I don't have the courage to wear swimwears but I love the idea of taking care of yourself and a bit confident with the way my size is as of the moment! haha
