I started this blog in June 2012. At the time, I was deep in the "mommy blog" era, with kids at home and plenty of stories to tell. It was a lot of fun. The traffic was strong, conversations happened regularly in the comments, and many of you became familiar names I looked forward to hearing from (still do!).
Some of you are still here all these years later (thank you!). Others became real-life friends beyond the screen, which became an unexpected joy.
As often happens though, life changed. The kids grew up. Sharing personal details online began to feel different, and eventually the blog slowed down. Even so, it had been part of my life for so long that I couldn't quite imagine letting it go completely.
Yesterday, I received the renewal notice for my domain name and decided not to renew it. Before the blog shuts down, I wanted to say thank you very much to everyone who traveled with me on this journey, you have always been amazing, and I have always appreciated you.

Oh, nooo! I'm so sorry to hear this. I've loved your blog for years, and I'm so sad to see it go. There's no way to pivot? I know it's ultimately up to you, but it's so sad to see it go away.
ReplyDeleteSmall Town Woman is so good too! Some of the best recipes around!
DeleteI so understand your reasons for saying goodbye. My kids are older and my blogging is becoming less also.
ReplyDeleteYou started before me! Blogging has been a lot of fun. I will miss the community. It's been really awesome. I'm glad we have been a part of each other's journey!
DeleteAwww, I am sorry to see you go. I have visited your blog so many times over the years. Best of luck to you in your new chapter in life.
ReplyDeleteSame!! I have been to your site a million times too (happily). It's been so nice to be a part of such a wonderful community.
DeleteIt has been going for such a long time, but I totally understand. Everybody has grown up and sometimes it is just the right time to stop blogging! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI like that you have a group of bloggers working together. I'm sure that helps keep things interesting!!
DeleteAw, sorry to see you go! Although I completely understand your reasonings. I've similarly gone through the motions. Things nowadays are completely different to what they were 5/10 years ago.

Awww, I do understand and so sorry to see you go. Wishing you the best of your journey
ReplyDeleteNo! We hate to see you go. Been with you so long. How will we keep in touch otherwise?
ReplyDeleteI've been with you for many years. I'm sorry to see you go, but I get it. I'm doing less and less too and at some point I'll come to this same decision.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your life with me all these years. Have a fabulous day and know that I will miss you. Love and hugs. ♥
What a great loss it will be for all the readers out there. It has been a true satisfaction to read your articles and we will be missing you a lot. :(
ReplyDeleteIt’s bittersweet to say goodbye but I can appreciate why you’re doing it. There’s a huge world out there and I’m excited for your next chapter. Thanks for giving us a look inside your life.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand your reasons for saying goodbye to your blog. We as readers will miss you.
ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate, Rosey. But with social media, blogs have slowly disappeared over the years, and it's harder to keep them up these days.
ReplyDeleteAs much I understand the reasons why you're quitting, I completely understand. You've gonna be missed a lot, A LOT.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely end to a fantastic story. I wish you all the best in your life.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Rosey! Are you sure you don't want to hold unto it and use it as a journal of sorts. You own the domain name and it would be a shame to see someone else buy it and use it for nonsense. Please hold unto it as your kids would one day appreciate the time capsule you created for them through your blog. I have had mine going on nearly 20 years. I am not giving it up and neither should you. Write when you have milestones or once a year. I took a 5 year hiatus! Elizabeth F
ReplyDeleteI hope you will reconsider and keep it as a journal. Or start writing experiences as an empty nester and grandma.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your blog so much and hate to see you go. I totally understand, though. Blessings to you!
