Ah, I don't care what anyone says, those were the days...
Things weren't perfect but we walked right into grandma and grandpa's house
(no knock or appointment needed) and they were happy to see us (every single time).
We were just as happy to see them (and we did, often)
and grandma often had something fantastic on the stove or in the oven (no holiday required). 💗
I agree with you. My grandma was just this wonderful. The other not so much, but my moms mom was the very best grandma ever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. ♥
YES! Those were the days. My grandparents are all gone and I miss them so.
ReplyDeleteI never knew my grandparents - or any family other than immediate family. Which I mourn.
ReplyDeleteI also agree too could turn up whenever you wanted to see them and always was welcome much better than a text lol
ReplyDeleteMice post Rosey have an oldtimerstastic week 👍
Oh no, go back forty-fifty-sixty years and things were simpler and better. I remember my grandmother overfeeding us every time.
ReplyDeleteI relate to this 100%. The older I get, the more I look back on my younger days and realize that I was far too eager to grow up.
ReplyDeleteI have some wonderful memories of my grandmother and my grandfather. They were the glue that held the family bonds together so tightly.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother was the salt of the earth. I can still here her calling me to help her in the kitchen when I make her recipes.
ReplyDeleteI miss my grandparents too.
ReplyDeleteEspecially my maternal grandma. She spoiled me rotten!
Happy Wednesday, Rosey!
The picture alone brings back memories. Those were really the days.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have read this, it does bring back memories of one thing in particular: Not knocking on the door to grandma's house! How many people nowadays follow a policy such as this?
ReplyDeleteThe old days always will be good. Nothing better than spending time with grandma and grandpa before. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAaaawwwww....whoever missed out on the love from those times, missed out on a lot! It's so different these days.
ReplyDeleteGrandma cooked meals are the best. I miss those childhood memories of mine
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of visiting my grandparents in Alabama. My grandma was the most wonderful cook and she gave the best hugs. I miss her every day.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I would love to go back to those simpler times.
ReplyDeleteI loved going to my grandparents. I loved that my grandmas were both great cooks. We had all sorts of great foods sweet and savoury when we visited.
ReplyDeleteAwww I love this! Makes me miss my grandparents!
ReplyDeleteI have some wonderful memories with my grandparents, I am very lucky to have my nana
ReplyDeleteThis makes me miss my grandparents and those weekend gatherings.
ReplyDeleteYes! The good old days. Now I feel paranoid if my home isn't perfect if someone drops by. Ug!
