New Year (Happy Happy to you!), new calendar, new planner. New planner? I don't use a planner. Well, I do this year!! These planners from Workman Publishing were too hard to resist and once I began (and I did begin filling things in early) I was hooked. No wonder so many people at my job use these.
Honestly, I haven't been a planner person in the past, but my job has a lot of different things going on all at the same time and more often than I can count, I have wished that I had everything in one place to look and see what I have to do next. That would help eliminate the impending sense of "what am I forgetting?!" that sometimes hangs over my head. I do run my electronic calendar and I get reminders from that, but I'm not always at my computer and I don't keep my phone in my hand or the sound even on, most if not all the way through the work day. Having a tangible, in-your-hand, calendar/planner to write down what I need to do now, and in the future, just feels right this year!
Workman also has calendars and every year I have a new one hanging to remind me of how much I love to travel. Last year, I had Italy hanging up and loved the photos so much that I got a new Italy calendar for this year. It's not the same... last year's had big photos of one place, this year's has little photos for every day of the month, all under the umbrella of one place. I like both types...though I do have to get my glasses on to read the fine print on this one (grandma problems).
For January, we are vicariously visiting Capri. How wonderful to explore a new idea each year. I like to see photos of other parts of the world. Traveling used to be one of my favorite things to do.
