This Award Winning DIY Alphabet Jewelry Kit Rocks!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

One way we're keeping busy while we are choosing to stay home during this time of social distancing is crafts; ready-made-kits or things we are coming up with on our own. One of the best things we have done by far, up to this point, is create jewelry with this kit from Simply Modern Trendy Touch (S.M.T.T.) by DIY Jewelry.

The price of this kit is excellent, running about $15 on Amazon. That is reasonable, even if you never reuse the materials to make more than the ten or so pieces of jewelry that you can create using this set. By reusing, I mean, taking your pieces apart and making new ones, which I know my granddaughter will at some point do (she cannot resist).

The kit is packaged with a case that houses each of the materials in a separate compartment. It also has a tight-fitting plastic lid on top to keep the pieces from shifting. That is important because some of these pieces are teeny-tiny. The variety/types of decorative pieces in here are very appealing. You can easily make necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. There are embellishments to add to the letters, if you choose, or you can simply spell things out. You can custom-design the jewelry to fit your taste and/or style.

The instructions are very clear, and easy to follow, and it comes with absolutely everything you need to make your alphabet jewelry.

Create 10 premium pieces of personalized jewelry with the STMT D.I.Assembly alphabet jewelry kit! Spell out your name, a friend's name, favorite quotes, words and phrases. Create trendy, personalized gifts for friends and family or make the perfect accent piece for every outfit. With various chains and cording, you can create jewelry that suits every occasion! Jump right in and get started or follow along with the instruction booklet for some inspiration, tips and tricks. Kit includes: 104 round alphabet beads – 52 metallic round alphabet beads – 104 metallic cube alphabet beads – 26 wood alphabet beads – 50 round faceted beads – 10 Matte neon beads – 16 in. Metal chain – 4 lobster clasps – 20 jump rings – mini pliers – 2 – 3 yd. Knotting cords – 6 – 2 in. Eye pins – 0.5 oz. Of metallic seed beads – 4 spiked beads – 32 in. Metal chain – 3 – 0.75 in. Eye pins – an instruction booklet.

As you can see, this is a job to be taken very seriously. As my granddaughter set about to make a bracelet for me, herself and her mom, I knew in an instant that this was a kit my daughter who is in her 20's would also like to own. I may pick another set up at some point for her, especially if hints get thrown my way after she sees my blog post. ;) I also just thought, and I wish I would have thought of it when she was here, that it would have been perfect to make matching 'baby doll and me' jewelry!! She has this American Girl doll her mom bought her that she takes with here everywhere we go! I bet she'd have been tickled pink to have jewelry that matched with her little dollie (who by the way, has had her name changed to be the same as my grandbabe's).

The only things I had to help her with were tying the strings and adding the clasps. She really had a lot of fun with this alphabet jewelry kit, and it is just the kind of thing that makes a social distancing mandate kind of fun. In fact, there are a LOT of things I have come to instantly love about this quarantine, though I don't like the reason why we are stuck in the house (of course not! of course not! of course not!). With that being said, and very sincerely meant, it IS nice though, to hear about families reconnecting, enjoying time with each other, making homemade dinners they all eat at the table, and generally just having time to breathe. We move so fast as a society, don't we? It's not nice that we have to worry about this virus, not at all, but there is always a silver lining in every situation, and this more relaxed time right now, is mine.

Creating things is something my granddaughter and I always do when she comes to spend some time with her grandmama. It is a good way to make memories that will last, and something we both enjoy doing together. The one thing I do want to say is that there are a lot of little pieces and parts in this kit, so if you are using it with children, make sure they are old enough and responsible enough not to be around such items. My grandbabe is 6, and she's very responsible for her age, but I still stayed right by her side, just in case.

  2. Creating sure is the way. Great the case doesn't spill over and gets mixed up too. Guess you'll see what happens when your daughter looks at the post lol may have to get another. Yeah, there are some silver linings to the crummy virus, and we shall see how it all washes out in the end.

  3. Hi Rosey - it does seem to ring a lot of helpful bells and would keep at least one little on happy for hours ... (one old enough to be with such tiny items) ... still creative and clever and obviously engaging to young and old! Take care of one all during this time - cheers Hilary

  14. I remember during elementary days, we were making these! I miss those times. I think it's a great gift idea as well. Although it is just simple, yet it touches the heart of the one you will give it to. <3

Nice! I would really like to have that. It is going to help me pass the time away and put my creative streak into good use. I am almost running out of things to do while riding out this community quarantine.
