In the summer, it is especially important to stay hydrated. Well, this is true any time of the year, but it's something we need to be very aware of in the hotter months, especially if we are outside. My oldest granddaughter just spent some time with us, and she's a huge fan of ice cold water, and wants to carry it with her everywhere she goes. My son, however, is not so cognizant of the potential hazards of dehydration, and quite frankly there are times when he could care less (he just wants to go go go). I have to find creative ways to keep him hydrated that will be effortless for him. The best way I've found is to have him carry along a 7 in 1 multi-flask from Precidio.
There are seven different ways he can use this multi-flask. Some of them he probably won't use, like the hot coffee compartment, although in cooler weather, I could see him wanting to take hot chocolate. The infuser though, he will definitely use and the agitator for making smoothies is a big deal too. Of course, you also have your bottle for ice cold water. Pour the ice cubes and water in the insulated Tritan plastic bottle (the infuser removes easily), and seal, or put your ice and drinks in the metal one and seal. His water will stay cold on the basketball court. That's a big deal to him, and the hydration is important to me.
Everything disassembles readily and is easy to clean. I like that too because with so many different varieties of drinks going into it, you don't want any residuals left behind. It is also dishwasher safe.
I'm loving the stainless steel bottle that can be used as a thermos, or the lighter bottle, which can be used to keep drinks cold on it's own. Either is a good way not only to keep my son's drinks at the temperature that is most refreshing for him. The bottle on the left is plastic, the one on the right is stainless steel. While we are using this for a child, because I want him to stay hydrated and want to take his bottle on the court (he doesn't like to take disposable bottles because everyone has one and they get mixed up), it was probably meant for, and is perfect for an adult. The lids don't leak, it fits in your cup holder in the car, it holds hot and cold liquids, and so on and so forth.
One other thing I want to show you is the tops. The plastic bottle has a round open spout and the stainless steel bottle has a slide opening. Both have lids, and neither one of them leak (important when you take bottles on the go).
I highly recommend the multi-flask. It is our favorite modern drinking vessel to date.
