So I'm thinking, having recently become a 'cat person' (we'd always owned dogs, never a cat), and realizing late in life, how absolutely cool these little companions can be, that a great gift for Mother's Day would be a gathering of all these nifty little gadgets and things that I want for our adoptee. She may be a little older than most cats who are adopted (we got her at 10, she is 11 now) but we are making up for her time spent in the no-kill shelter (which was awesome, but not near as one-on-one as she gets here with me and her boy). Now that she's so comfortable with us, and us with her, there are so many things I want to get for her, and for me, that would make things even that much better. What's on the list? Let's take a look...
I'll start top-left and go right...picture one is Honey. We love her so. She doesn't sleep in her cat tree often, but when I move it to sweep or mop she always stakes a claim to it (moving furniture makes her a bit wary and very watchful). It makes me smile to see her in it. One area she does use on it is the scratching post. She loves that thing (and our couches which admittedly do look like scratch posts too, grr). :)

Top-middle: a dishwasher-safe Cypress Home cat head mug. It holds 12 oz. or can be used in a multitude of ways around the house. I like how Zulily showed it being used as a planter. What a cute idea. I think this would be adorable on display, and a perfect item to add to a gift box/basket/assortment for mom on Mother's Day. It's very cheerful and happy and I like it a lot!
Top-right: The Fur Zapper is unlike anything I've heard of before, but something I definitely need in my life. My supervisor recently stopped me and said, 'turn around, there's something on your pants.' Well these were dress pants, straight from being pressed that morning so I knew in an instant it was going to be a tuft of fur from my beloved cat. Sure enough... I haven't quite figured out how to keep the cat hair off of things. I'm working on it (could be a losing battle?) but this could help!
Pet owners love their furry friends, but no one loves the hair they leave behind! FurZapper is an easy spring cleaning solution to removing pet hair from clothes, pet bedding, blankets and more. Just toss it into the washer and dryer with your laundry and let it work its magic. This tacky, flexible disc is just sticky enough to gently collect and pull fur, hair, dust and debris from items as they tumble through the cycles.
It's non-toxic, re-usable, hypoallergenic and 100% made in the USA. So, if you’re tired of washing and drying your clothes and still having pet hair all over, try FurZapper!

Middle-left. My cat sitter has a lot going on in her life right now, and watching my cat while we roam the US on summer vacation is not high on her priority list this year, so we're really in the market for a great cat carrier that holds a littler box too, so we can take our cat with us. Of course, it won't be the same kind of trip we took last year, where we stop and visit so many cities along the way on a whim, but it will be a well-planned one where we stop at cat-friendly hotels. Will this plan come to fruition? Maybe yes, maybe no, but either way this would be so great to have on hand because there will be times when we need to take our girl with us in the car. One for sure, is to the vet. for her check-ups. Right now we take her in a towel on my lap, but that gets old fast, for her and for me. This would be so much nicer. It has a roll down, drop front to keep kitty calm in the Dr.'s office, or when she first gets adjusted to a road trip. It also has a soft bottom for her to sleep on, and a place for the seat belt to strap the carrier in for safety. To say I am in love with this carrier would be an understatement. This is sold at Chewy.com I haven't ordered from them before but in looking online, they've got a huge assortment of items for pets. This particular item if you are interested is the Nercoichi Portable Stress Free Cat Cage.
The photo on the far-right is our girl again. We took this shortly after we brought her home.

Bottom-left: How do I love thee? Let me count the ways? Who that is a cat owner has not thought of owning one of these beauties?? The Cat Litter Robot gets such great reviews, but it costs a small fortune. It is a self cleaning litter box (just sounds dreamy, doesn't it?) that runs after kitty is out of the box. It sifts the waste into a bag on the bottom that you seal and toss when the time comes. No more scooping litter a couple of times a day sounds amazing, wonderful, fantastic and terrific to me!! Don't get me wrong, we'll do what we need to, to keep our girl healthy and happy but it would be nice not to have to deal with daily poo duty. :)

Bottom-middle: Lately I've been thinking a cat perch for Honey would be nice. That is not our cat in the photo above, it's the photo from Amazon that goes with this particular window seat. I'd have to research to see which one I liked best, but this one looks comfy enough. The cat 'posing' for it sure seems to enjoy her job!

So there's my Mother's Day wish list for cat owners. I'm just thinking if your mom is a feline fanatic, she's probably got a long list of 'wannas' like I do. Plus, she's probably not expecting things for her cat, so it's a win-win; you get the surprise factor, and she gets items she'll love. This list isn't sponsored. It's just one I wrote for fun, and if you have a feline mama, it's one that could get you a lot of brownie points this year too (if so, you're welcome). :) In any case, here's to the mamas (with or without cats). I wish them all a Happy upcoming Mother's Day!
