It's that time of year again, when Welch's puts out their seasonal fruit snacks. It is a mixed variety of fruit flavors, shaped into little characters that are perfect for Halloween. I far prefer passing these out to kids on the holiday instead of candy, and I know they're well received too, by the parents monitoring their children's trick-or-treat goodies.
I love that they are so cute (seriously, aren't they so cute??), and my kids love that they taste so good. In fact, there doesn't seem to be an age limit on these snacks. I took a box of 28 to one of my classes today (older kids), to reward them for being so phenomenally well behaved all of the time. You'd have thought I gave them gold!!! This was a better selection for my class than candy because it does not contain any of the 8 major allergens, it is a good source of Vitamins A, C and E, has no preservatives, and it's both gluten and fat-free. I have 2 students in 2 different classes with allergies (one various allergies and another has a cashew allergy), and 1 with a gluten-free diet, so I always have to be careful about what I'm doling out. It can be challenging to find something that's good for everyone, but these worked out just fine.
