How are You Celebrating Shark Week?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Best Stuffie Ever!
Did you know it's Shark Week? I've seen it all over the Internet, and living in a warm state that has its fair share of sharks, I figured we ought to celebrate. How are we celebrating? Not be swimming with the sharks, oh no (not my thing, let me tell you!). Instead we are celebrating in several ways, one is by being with cute, cuddly sharks (with felt teeth that aren't a bit menacing, hurrah chomp!) from Wild Republic. This is my first time seeing Wild Republic stuffed animals, and I am SOLD!! These are gorgeous and I love them. I mean my son loves them. ;) :)

These high quality plush sharks are available in many different styles and types. Our two faves? The 20" Black Tip Shark who looks menacing in this picture, but is really just a big sweetheart ;)

and this 15" Hammerhead Shark who looks like he's smiling to me. ;) Some of you know my son loves stuffed animals. I don't want him to outgrow it, I think it's sweet, but I know that time is coming. Thankfully, that time is not yet here and these were instant favorites. Right now they're in his bed with him, their little heads peaking out from under the covers, and earlier this evening they went with us to the movies. I'm not kidding. :)  This is not surprising to me. What is surprising is how much I love them too!! These are really unusual and adorable stuffed animals. I think Wild Republic really knows what they're doing when it comes to making the stuffies. I highy recommend them any time you are in the market for stuffed animals. They are very reasonably priced too!

For the young ladies in the family, how about a shark craft that they will use over and over again? This Knot-a-Shark kit from Alex Toys allows you to create a snuggly blankie the older kids will be happy to use time and time again. Recommended for ages 8+, but if you offer help, I'm sure even the younger kids would love it. I'm thinking of my granddaughter who is 5. This will be a huge hit with her, and I know I'm going to be the 'best grandma in the whole world' when we pull this out to craft together next weekend (gotta rack up those grandma points, I don't get to see her as much as I'd like to because my work and her school get in the way). :)

ALEX DIY Knot-A-Shark comes with everything you need to make every week Shark Week. Create your own snuggly, terror-of-the-deep blanket, that you crawl inside of, ideal for naps, sleepovers or binge-watching your favorite show. Stitch together the shark’s face with pre-punched fleece and felt pieces, then knot the sides closed and add a tail. When complete, the project measures 42in. x 60in. (106.7cm. x 152.4cm.).
Includes 5 precut fleece shapes, 15 precut polyester felt shapes, 3 colors of cotton embroidery floss, needle and easy instructions. Recommended for children 8 years of age and older.

Another great find at Alex Toys is Sharky's Diner. This is family fun for everyone! I'm 48-years-old and think it's just as fun as my 10-year-old does. :)  Gather the kids around and go 'fishing.' The first one to pull (4) pieces of 'junk' from the shark's mouth wins. Be careful though, if those jaws close (and that's the best part, lol) you lose. :)

Ideal Sharky’s Diner Game lets you test your reflexes by snatching Sharky’s meal before his jaws snap shut! Yell out whichever piece of junk you want to get from Sharky’s mouth. Then snatch his meal with a gaff hook before his jaws close. Be careful! Pick up the wrong piece and his jaws will snap shut! Be the first player to remove 4 pieces of junk and win! This game fosters problem solving, reasoning, patience, hand-eye coordination and social skills. Includes a shark body, shark jaw, 2 shark fins, eye stickers, 2 rubber bands, 2 gaff hooks, 21 pieces of plastic junk and instructions. Recommended for children 4 years of age and older.

So that's how we're celebrating Shark Week. You?  🦈😊

  19. Shark week??? I never even knew that it existed although I don't think I'd celebrate it unless I'm eating shark meat. I actually don't love sharks since encountering them is not so good..from the movies I've watched!Ha-ha!

  20. I didn’t know something like this existed. I am not big on special days or weeks so I might miss this one as well. I love sharks though.

  22. To be honest I’ve never been the biggest fan of shark week. I think it’s becsuse I used to do open water swims in the ocean where there are always sharks. I always like to think they aren’t there though LOL.

  23. My youngest son loves the ocean and its creatures so he is ready with a dvd of Planet earth to watch of course.

  24. Your son is very cute and he's for sure excited about shark week. My girls don't share the same feeling. Maybe some day they'll change their mind and we'll celebrate shark week as well.

  25. Sharks always put a little tinge of fear in my heart, but I respect their power, their quest for survival and their habitats. My nephew would absolutely love that shark toy set! I've been looking for a birthday gift for him, and now I think I've found it!
