Valentine's Day Decorations that are Made to Last!

"L" is for the way you look at me.

"O" is for the only one I see. "V" is very, very extraordinary. "E" is even more than anyone that you adore. I love that song, and this adorable LOVE Express tabletop train from Oriental Trading. It is just one of the many items you can get to decorate in style for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday. You can use it as a romantic tabletop centerpiece by putting tea lights in the top, or you can use it as a fun decoration on its own (without tea lights). We have opted for the latter for now, but will add tealights and transfer it to the table for our dinner when the actual holiday night gets here.

I also got a banner to drape alongside the bottom of our breakfast bar counter. If we had a fireplace (not much need for one here, though I'd love it just the same), I would drape some of this garland on it too.  I like that it mixes smaller and larger hearts, and that they come in two colors. It is 10-ft. in length so you can use it for all kinds of things! The flexible, but durable string means you're going to be able to use this garland for years to come.

My granddaughter loves these double eraser-end pencils. She's big into drawing pictures (which grandma keeps forever, of course), so I knew before she saw these that they would tease out a big smile from her. I received 24 of them (priced at only $5.99 for the set), so I took some to school with me too. We run an incentive program (the kids pays with reward bucks, not real money) for the students, and holiday items are always popular. I thought these would be big with the girls, so I had to smile to myself  when I saw them on the desktops of two of the boys as well. :)

My granddaughter also loves this little tabletop heart tree from Oriental Trading. It's definitely sturdy, but not sturdy enough for 4-year-old playtime. ;) I did let her hold it for a bit though, and she got a big kick out of it. There were several, 'Grandma, I'd sure like to have my very own glitter tree' comments tossed around over the weekend. I think I'll surprise her on Valentines' Day by giving her this one for a gift. :)

The shadow is pretty thick in this picture, but you can get a good idea of the size and the overall cuteness, so I chose to put it up (the shadowy picture) just the same. Each of those hearts is covered in glitter. So far, none of the glitter has come off either, so that's a huge decorating plus in my book. In that background, you can also see a 'LOVE' sign made out of blocks. More about that below!

These blocks spell out the word 'love' in different-sized letters and I think they are adorable. They're made of sturdy wood and painted on all sides. These are easy to display, move and store. They will also be perfect for the holiday and last forever.

Valentine's Day wouldn't be the same without chocolate, and Oriental Trading has that too. In fact, they have all kinds of holiday candy selections, sold at great prices. It's fresh too (which cannot be said for all mail-order food items). My favorite is the Hershey miniatures with holiday designs on the wrappers. Everyone in the family has one they like the best. I'm torn between dark and milk chocolate.

Party Supplies for Valentine's Day: Sold at Oriental Trading
Such reasonable prices, and oh so cute!
My granddaughter rarely has sugary treats, but her dad said it would be okay to give her one the weekend they were here. I put one on her little Snoopy plate, and topped it with a Peanuts napkin as well, when I made her sandwich for lunch (complete with avocado, which is her favorite). She ate the insides of the sandwich (not the bread), and skipped the candy, lol. My little sweetheart does a great job at eating healthy all by herself now (because she has smart parents who have raised her that way from the get-go).  That's okay, the rest of us enjoyed indulging on the chocolate the rest of the weekend. One thing to note, though I probably shouldn't, is that even though Valentine's Day is not here yet, that candy may or may not now be gone. ;)

It's fun for me to decorate for Valentine's Day. The kids love it, and that's something that makes me super happy any time of the year. Be sure to visit the Oriental Trading website to learn more about all of the great holiday items. Honestly, they have selections for every holiday, I just chose to write about this one because it's the next holiday on the calendar (and boy, is it coming up fast!). Be sure to check out their social media sites while you're there too.

Happy Decorating to you!
