Nursery Wall Décor
Most moms-to-be spend a lot of time decorating their baby’s nursery. They set the color theme and get a crib and changing table in a style they love. One gift idea for her and her baby is art for the walls of the nursery. For instance, a full color illustration from a classic nursery rhyme is a fun idea. Or, choose a framed poster of a favorite book or movie character beloved by children. Be sure to choose a piece of artwork with colors in its design that match the color theme of your friend’s nursery.
Clothing with a Fun Twist
Baby clothes are always a welcome gift for moms-to-be. But, instead of getting a generic onesie or t-shirt, try getting one that displays her love of a particular team. For example, an item of baby Angels clothing would be perfect for an expectant mom who is a great fan of that baseball team. She will be pleased about the item of clothing as well as her chance to express her love for her favorite team!
With it being winter now, I found the adorable Cowboys pom hat pictured above. So, so cute for the kiddos, and it makes me giggle just looking at it. Those poms are adorable and baby will be cozy warm!
Extras She May Forget
Some moms-to-be have so many items on their to-do list they forget some of the most important things for the baby. One extra she may forget is a second fitted sheet for her crib mattress. A second fitted sheet comes in handy when the first one is soiled in the middle of the night due to a leaky diaper! A plush blanket for her baby in winter and an extra cushion for the changing table are other ideas. Think about what she will need, but may not remember to grab on one of her many trips through the baby store. She’s sure to be grateful for your gift when she realizes its usefulness.
A Baby Mat
A baby mat makes a great gift for a mom to use when her baby begins to explore. She can put her baby on the mat so he or she can explore, wiggle and take in the sights and sounds all around. Though the mom-to-be won’t use this gift right away, she will be glad to have it when she is supposed to start giving her baby some tummy time.
Traveling Gear
New moms and dads have a lot of gear to carry around when traveling with baby. Diapers, bottles, toys, pacifiers and wipes are just a few of the items in a diaper bag. Many moms-to-be appreciate a second diaper bag to use while their main bag is being washed. Having a second diaper bag means she can take her baby and all of her baby’s supplies along to the grocery store, to the post office or on other errands even if her main bag is not available.
Finally, take a little time to think of a gift that will be both practical and fun for a mom-to-be. Thinking about the interests and needs of a mom-to-be will help you end up with a gift she will absolutely love.
