Do you decorate for Thanksgiving? The beauty of decorating for Fall when Halloween season arrives, is that a lot of those decorations are simply (and often-times beautifully) Fall-related, so they can carry over into the latter season too. Take for example, this trio of Sweet Fall Pumpkin Centerpieces in white and gold that we purchased from The Oriental Trading Company. These little beauties are going to take us from October right into the end of November, for our home decorating scheme. Everyone who walks into the house notices them immediately, and they always have something good to say. I just love them!
The pumpkins say 'Family,' 'Fall' and 'Harvest' and they're extremely versatile as far as decorating goes. You can use them on the table for a centerpiece, put them on the breakfast bar for a lovely morning visual (that's where we've placed ours) or put them most anywhere in your home or office. You can split them up, or keep them together. They'd also make a lovely part of any holiday tablescape. These are resin and the measure 6 x 7.5"
The same can be said for these sweet Fall Festival Apple Kraft Paper Bags. They too, are versatile and can be used all throughout the season. If we were up north still, we would be taking them to pick apples. Here we use them for a variety of things, including making sweet Fall gift bags for our friends and family that include apples and some other fun goodies. The bags measure 1.5" x 3.15" with 4.5" jute handles. I love the look of these, they're absolutely darling and perfect for this time of the year. They are very reasonably priced and sold by the dozen.
For the kiddos in the family, one of the 'fun little goodies' we'll be adding to the bags will be these little plush turkeys that are also sold at Oriental Trading. How fun to hand this little guy over, peeking out of the bag, to any little one you know. I haven't passed mine out yet, but I know all of the littles in the family are going to be bright-eyed and happy to receive this little fella. I did give my son his, and he has it perched on his desk. :)
These plush 9" turkeys come in sets of 12. The bodies are made like a stuffed animal and the tail feathers are made of felt. They make a great whimsical decoration for the holiday season. I think they're perfect to add to the 'kids table' this year too!! What better way to want to get the kids to eat at their own space? Make it fun and they'll be thrilled to have their special place to sit. :)
One of the things Oriental Trading is known for best is their awesome prices on adorable crafts. This Sunday we will be meeting up at my oldest son's house to have a Turkey Decorating Party. :)
Grandma (that's me), will be bringing along these super sweet, very easy to make Turkey Clothespin Magnet Kits. They are sold in sets of 12 and measure 7" x 6" Each one is individually packaged so the pieces don't get lost, and a few extras are included, in case one piece gets lost or ruined by overzealous little fingers. ;)
We put one together, just to test it and make sure it wouldn't be frustrating for my grandbaby who is only 4-years-old. The pieces are self-adhering, so no glue is necessary (though she can handle glue), and it was so super easy to do. I think these are so cute, and I know she's going to love making hers. We sure like ours here!
Forgive the shadows, but here's our finished product. He's a cute little turkey, isn't he? The craft is pretty cute too. ;) ;) ;)
In addition to the traditional Fall/Thanksgiving items we ordered from Oriental Trading, I also picked up some items for the school store. We have a cart that goes around to the kids, and to contribute to it, I wanted some fun things for the kids, like the Jeweled Cell Phone Stickers that are a big hit these days.
I also picked up lanyards galore, so the kids can keep their house keys, name badges, lunch and/or bus passes safe, etc.
These ALL (in both pictures) came in one pack, and the price was SO reasonable! I like that they included different styles at the end, snap or metal hook, so the kids could make a choice.
We love shopping at The Oriental Trading Company. We have for years and years. It's a generational thing in my family. As I have happily mentioned before, my mom shopped there when I was a kid, and my grandma did too. Now I buy from them as well, for my children and now for my granddaughter.
