Check out the Zulily Interactive Book Fair! Giving Back to those Affected by Recent Hurricanes

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Please note though, that all opinions stated are genuine and my Zulily, book-loving, and let's help each other own.

November is National Literacy Month, and Zulily (always a favorite online retailer!) is joining in with its first ever interactive book fair, running now through December 10th, with the ultimate goal being to help those affected by recent major storms (Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria).

So how does it work? First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides new books and other essentials to children in need, is aiding teachers, students and schools affected by the recent hurricanes. There are a lot of stories out there, of books being ruined by flooding and/or mold, and of educators losing access to learning resources because of the storms. Zulily understands and wanted to step in to help. As such, six sales events will feature a curated selection of children's books, and each book purchased will trigger a donation from Penguin Random House to First Book.

Customers can shop the ongoing interactive book fair via the “Buy One, Give One” badge
highlighted on the website and on featured books found in select events.

In addition to that, Zulily will also be offering shout outs on their social channels that will activate a call to action through comments or shares to spark the "Give One" donation from Penguin Random House to First Book. For example, a donation might be made when fans comment on Zulily's Facebook post about their favorite childhood stories.

Up to 25,000 books will be donated during this Interactive Book Fair, to those who were ill-affected by the storms. Since it is officially the holiday season, the timing couldn't be better! Buy the books you were going to pick up for gifts anyway, and help be a part of something extra special!

“We recognize that many of our customers know someone or have been personally affected by  the devastation incurred from the hurricanes this year,” said Kerry Gibson-Morris, VP of Home,  Hardlines & Licensing at Zulily. “We understand that  these major storms can disrupt children’s learning and  academic performance, and through our partnership with  Penguin Random House and support of First Book,  we hope we can provide children, teachers and schools the  tools to succeed during these challenging recovery  times.”

Visit Zulily.com to learn more and help those affected by the hurricanes. Be sure to keep an eye on their social pages as well! FacebookTwitter, Pinterest and/or Instagram.

  10. This is great campaign. I love that this is going to make the kids affected by hurricanes happy this holiday season. These kids may be too young to understand why they lost their homes, their belongings. Sharing our blessings with them will help them feel the love and care they so deserve. Thank you Zulily for spearheading this.
