World Tourism Day is September 27th! $25 Off Travel with Hotels.com

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Finding ways to travel year round, even when the kids are in school is a must for us. Though we shorten our trips this time of year to being fairly local, and only on weekends or holiday breaks, we still ensure that we carve out to time to go. For those of you who aren't tied to a school calendar, traveling during the off-season months like September and October can really pay off! If you are traveling now, you will generally have fewer people to contend with, and shorter (or no!) lines to stand in which will allow you to have more time to experience new people, places and things at your leisure. That can be far better than being rushed, I know. We used to travel in the off-season to Europe and though we hear stories of people who said they had to wait in line forever to see the popular tourist attractions, we can't relate because during the off-season, that was rarely if ever the case (hurrah!).

What a pleasure it would be to stroll Times Square without having to literally squeeze through groups of people to do so (if you've been to NYC during peak travel season, you know this is not an understatement), or walk through the city of Dallas, Texas and take in the sights at a leisurely pace, and without huge crowds. These are just two examples on the list of many, that Hotels.com has put together for you, to help you find the best destinations to travel to during the months of September and October. Scroll down to see more.

The hotel is definitely a primary decision to make when one is traveling, for many reasons including, cost, convenience, location, quality of sleep, and so much more!! Using Hotels.com, customers can find not only great savings (and there is always great savings), but they also are able to see user reviews with insights, opinions and photos from people who have already booked and stayed at the place they are considering. In today's day and age where technology tells everything, browsing through those reviews makes good sense. We do, every single time, even if we stayed at a property before (you never know what might change from stay to stay).

Hotels.com has proven trustworthy for us time and time again. It's very simple to use the search engine, the booking is a breeze, and the communication of your reservation both to the hotel and to your e-mail is instant. There is also an app you can download (we did) to help make things run even faster (tap, tap, tap, done). Customer service is second to none, and the options available to you in terms of hotels in each and every city are so plentiful, you'll return to hotels.com over and over again for your every travel need.

Below are some examples of destinations that Hotels.com has selected from each region of the US where travel is less expensive, less crowded and easy to get to from most places around the nation. Take a minute and see which you'd like to see or visit, or head on over to the site, to choose another destination of preference on your own.

September 27th is World Tourism Day, in support of sustainable tourism. We can't travel on that day (we are tied to a school schedule) but we're getting an early start, and doing some travel here this weekend. Like many, travel is one of my most favorite things to do, and using Hotels.com is a no-brainer for me. It's where I head to first, every single time, when it's time to book a stay. A big thank you to them for putting together such a great list of suggestions.
"As the United Nations General Assembly affirmed when announcing the adoption of 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, tourism can contribute to all the three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental – and each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Not only does the sector spearhead growth, it also improves the quality of people’s lives. It can bolster environmental protection, champion diverse cultural heritage, and strengthen peace in the world.
In this spirit, World Tourism Day 2017 presents a unique opportunity to raise awareness on the contribution of sustainable tourism to development among public and private sector decision-makers and the international community, while mobilizing all stakeholders to work together in making tourism a catalyst for positive change," (27 September, 2017, World Tourism Day, World Tourism Organization).

Happy Traveling to you (and to us!).
