Delicious Snacking and Labor Day Celebrations Go Hand-in-Hand

Having the right snacks on hand is essential when it comes to entertaining, and so many of us will be entertaining this long Labor Day Weekend! Because it's a traditional holiday that often entails that last big shebang for people ending the summer I let my son pick the party colors. My son has picked out three snacks to help work with the color scheme he selected: primary colors (yellow, red, and blue).

Welch's Strawberry Fruit Snacks are out for the 'red' item. These are a favorite with all the kids for sure, and most especially my youngest son. The fruit snacks taste the most like real fruit, and they're not at all gummy. These fruit snacks provide 100% of the daily value of Vitamin C, 25% Vitamins A & D, they're fat-free, gluten-free and have no preservatives.

The ICE Lemonade is serving for the yellow in our primary colors layout. This zero calorie drink comes in a variety of flavors but the lemonade is my favorite right now. These carbonated drinks give kids the satisfaction of having a beverage that is 'like' soda, but without the negative connotations associated with such drinks. This sparkling water tastes really good too. Every flavor we've tried thus far has been delish. Check the ingredients on the bottles, a lot of these have vitamins in them that you're going to be happy your children are drinking too.

The Little Kernel mini popcorn is serving as our 'blue' selection. This particular flavor is Truffle Sea Salt which is a great in and of itself, but add to the fact that it's mini kernels and this snack is a real treat. Your guests will love that you made the extra effort to get something special, and if they haven't already tried it, they'll appreciate having the chance to try something new.

All three of these items are great for gatherings, and they're perfect for taking the edge off of hunger and satisfying your thirst. I wish you all a wonderful long weekend (if you're in the U.S.).

  8. Delicious snacks indeed! Now that Labor Day has passed, I also think these would make great non-chocolate Halloween treats.
