How To Make Extra Cash For The Summer

Disclosure: A big welcome to my guest blog poster for the day.

Just about all of us could use some extra spending money, especially during the summer when there are so many things that we want to see and do. Unfortunately for a lot of us, money can be tight. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to make extra cash. Here are some tips on how you can get the money you need to do the things you love this summer.

Rent Your Properties

It's easier than ever to make some fast cash if you own property. You can rent out your home or timeshare to vacationers who are looking to save money by renting privately rather than staying at a hotel. If you've found yourself Googling "how to get rid of my timeshare legally" a lot lately, you might want to consider looking into renting it before you sell.

Sell Your Used Clothes

The used clothing market is booming right now, thanks to apps and websites that allow people to sell their gently used clothing. One of the benefits of buying used clothing is that it not only allows consumers to find interesting and rare pieces, but it can help people to save a lot of money. You might be surprised just how much the clothes in your closet turn out to be worth.

Provide Services

Just about everyone is good at something. Whether you're great with kids or a talented painter, there's probably someone out there who'd be willing to pay you for your skill. Create a simple website and print up a few fliers advertising your services as a babysitter, house painter or whatever other skill you can provide people. This is a simple way to not only make some extra money for the summer, but to potentially start your own lucrative small business.

Examine Your Expenses and Make Changes

Sometimes, you don't so much need extra income as you need to curtail your expenses. For example, if you made the switch from coffee shop coffee to making your own coffee, you could potentially save hundreds of dollars every year. Really examine your expenses and make whatever changes you can to reduce how much money you spend every month. This will afford you more cash to do the things you love.

If you follow these tips, you're sure to have enough money to fund your summer trips and activities. Don't let a lack of funds keep you from having the best summer ever.

  1. Great points on making extra cash! I would add, sell your used books on Amazon (so easy!) and try walking dogs - you get outside, get exercise and earn money - win-win!

  3. Can be easier just not to spend. But then one needs money first so they can't spend lol No property to rent. No used clothes. Guess babysitting it would be haha
