Birds Eye Veggie Made™ #Giveaway!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Birds Eye has these new Veggie Made selections in the freezer section of your grocery store that are going to make dinnertime so much easier for you! I know our weeks can get pretty busy over here especially when it's soccer season and we have to add practices and games to our already full schedules. Don't get me wrong, we love it, but it leaves little time for making a quality dinner, so more times than not I take the cop out and visit a fast food drive-through to eat on the way. Not the best option. With these microwave and go Veggie Made dishes, drive-through visit are going to become more rare for us, and a big hurrah for it too.

With selections like Zucchini Lentil Pasta that looks and tastes like the pasta you're used to having, these pastas made of so-good-for-you vegetables are the real deal. They are the perfect way to get your kids to really enjoy eating their veggies; even moreso, if like me, you don't tell them what they're eating. My youngest has a profound brain block when it comes to the word 'veggies,' so even though he enjoys the Zucchini Lentil Pasta, if I told him it was pasta made from vegetables, he would develop a strict aversion to it...so I just don't tell him. ;)

They have a huge variety of selections. It was hard to decide which ones to buy to give them a try. This mashed cauliflower was definitely calling my name. I have a 9-year old who doesn't like too many veggies, but he will eat cauliflower if you are making it into a pizza dough. That being the case, I thought he might like it mashed too, thinking it to be mashed potatoes. I was curious to see if he'd like it, he said he sort of did, sort of didn't...but that's okay because he feels the same way about mashed potatoes (unheard of, right?). I loved it though, it cooked up perfectly and I didn't have to spend that time to wash, chop and mash.

Another pasta that they have is Spinach Lentil Pasta in an Alfredo Sauce. This one is a hit with the kids because it is corkscrew-shaped. I just serve this one up without saying a word and it's gone before you know it. Ha! Lentils and Spinach would never make it past the first forkful without a fuss on any given day. Replacing the starch in the pasta with them and it's not even questioned? I call that Birds Eye Brilliant!

Making it is easy. You just place the bag into your microwave,

set the desired cooking time (printed on the bag), and hit the start button.

The bag expands as it cooks, and when the time is up you just let it sit for a minute or two (because it's going to be steaming hot).

Then you carefully open the bag and serve the pasta. All the taste of a homemade recipe, in a fraction of the time, and there's no prep time or clean-up. You can use the Veggie Made items as a great side dish for most any meal, or on the busiest of days, you might even make them a main dish. Birds Eye is the number one brand in frozen vegetables, and they are a company who is always on the lookout for ways to introduce vegetables to families in ways that will be appealing. Something worth noting too, there are no artificial ingredients.

Birds Eye’s new Veggie Made™ products are available in the following varieties:

Sounds interesting, but it doesn't look all that good in the bowl. I know, looks can be deceiving. I'll give it a try. Pasta is one of my weaknesses.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

I learned Frozen vegetables do have one big advantage
over fresh veggies, however. They retain their
    nutrients during transport.

Hi Rosey - I can see the attraction ... I rarely use these sorts of things and perhaps have one or two for an emergency ... eg couscous - used some last night ... but I'll be interested to try these if they get over to the UK ... cheers Hilary

I didn't realize they made so much stuff. I have never seen their meal kits in stores.

I learned that As much as 40% of our food supply is discarded each
year. Frozen foods last longer than fresh, so you can
use what you need and save the rest for later.

I learned they try to use local farmers which is great. As a company selling in the US, they should support workers in the US. My daughter loves the Frozen themed macaroni and peas.

What I like 'bout Birds Eye products is that their vegetables are resourced from local farmers. I support home agriculture industry and independence from imported produce.

I learned that during flash freezing, vegetables are frozen
instantly. Their cell walls are not damaged,
so the frozen veggies are nearly identical to
fresh in nutrition and taste. Flavor, texture,
    and color are all preserved.
