SmartMax has this whole selection of magnetic building kits that your kids are just going to love! First and foremost, these kits are safe! The pieces are designed to be intentionally large, so they won't be a choking hazard to the smaller tots. The plastic is glued together around the magnets and then ultrasonically welded for additional protection. That means children are not going to be able to tear them apart.
Second of all, they're very colorful. It's a fact that children are drawn to bright, happy colors so this set is going to capture their attention from the get-go.
Third, they are strong!! These magnets hold together nicely and allow your children to utilize their imagination well as they take the pieces and pull them along once they are together, without having to worry about them pulling apart on their own. That's especially important when you have a train, which is the type of kit we selected.
There is no one way to assemble your kit either. That means your children can use their imagination to build, and tear apart to rebuild as they see fit.
The magnets have different strengths too, with the larger ones being the strongest and the smaller ones having a lesser force. That also helps teach children, as they play and discover the most practical ways to build their pieces. Plus the kits are cute. The eyes on the train engine make it for me. So sweet, right?
Our kit also included a few animals that could be put together with the magnets. My son is always a big fan of animals, so that added to the allure of this educational, sweet set.
There was a conductor too! Each of these SmartMax kits is compatible with any of the others that are sold, allowing you to mix and match as time passes (or get a huge lot from the get go!).
These are designed for ages 1-5. I have a granddaughter who is 4, and these will be in the house for her when she visits. In the meantime my son (who is 9!!) thinks they're pretty dandy too.
