#MyPancakeStyle #TFalxPancakeDay Discount and Krusteaz and T-fal Pan #Giveaway

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

We are gearing up for National Pancake Day, which is February 28th this year. That's a special day for us every year, because it's birthday day for a gal in our family, but it's also going to be special for one of you because that's the day one lucky winner is going to win two boxes of Krusteaz Pancake Mixes (just add water!) and a 12.5 " T-fal Initiatives frying pan.

I used a 12.5" T-fal Initiatives Fry Pan. The large size was perfect for making pancakes, because it allowed me to make more than one at a time. That's important when you're cooking flapjacks because they can get cold fast! The Thermo Spot you see in the middle lets you know when your pan is properly heated and ready to cook. This T-fal pan is dishwasher safe (what!) and non-stick.

I love that it's non-stick because that means no extra type of grease or oil is needed to cook! The materials used to create the non-stick surfaces are safe, as they have been with T-Fal for 50 years, because T-Fal has always been deliberate about the quality of their products. They choose to use a non-stick coating that is so safe, you might be surprised to see how else this type of material is used. Click over if you'd like to learn more.

There's a Discount (thank you Target!)

In honor of National Pancake Day (which again, is February 28th this year), Target (both in stores and online) will be providing customers with 10% off of select T-Fal non-stick cookware. This offer starts February 27th and ends March 3rd, 2017. It's the perfect time to stock up on some new pots and pans for the kitchen, don'tcha think?! :)

Enough gushing about T-Fal (though I do love them so ;) ), let's get on to some eats! The first thing I did was take out the strawberries so my youngest could take off the tops and rinse them thoroughly with water. He's got a 'thing' right now for strawberries, so we almost always have some on hand (not that I mind, mind you, I'm a pretty big fan too). He won't eat them on his pancakes (no way two foods could actually touch and it be okay!!), but he loves them in a bowl alongside his pancakes. Who am I to argue? He's still getting the nutrition packed in the berries, so no biggie. :)

While he was cleaning up the berries, I gathered the other ingredients we were going to need for our morning pancake party. I threw together this recipe on the cuff, and they turned out deeeelightful!

Rosey's Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancakes with Vanilla, Nutmeg and Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Dash Nutmeg
  • Strawberries, Whipped Cream, Cherries, Pecans and Maple Syrup for Toppings (use whatever you love!)
  • Heat-Resistant Molds to Make Fun Shapes

Instructions
  1. Empty the Krusteaz Pancake Mix into a large bowl
  2. Add water, Vanilla Extract and dash of Nutmeg
  3. Stir, leaving it a little lumpy
  4. Pre-heat your T-Fal pan until the Thermospot indicates it is properly heated
  5. Place your molds into the pan
  6. Pour your pancake mix carefully into the molds
  7. Turn once when edges begin to bubble
  8. Cook other side until desired shade of golden brown
  9. Place pancakes on plates
  10. Add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

I love that Krusteaz makes it so easy and fast to get a delicious breakfast on the table that everyone loves. Pancakes are so easy to doctor up too, to make them look or taste however you might want. I am a sucker for the Vanilla and Nutmeg combo. Sometimes I'll add a bit of cinnamon too, or at least top the whipped cream with a dash of it. I didn't this time, and either way they're delicious.

Because you simply add water to the mix and stir to create the batter, this recipe is perfect for getting the kids involved too. I think each of my kids entered their cooking phases with pancakes being first, and if not first, certainly top 3 for recipes first attempted.

Of course my daughter got all fancy the first time ever that she made pancakes. She made them as big as her older brother's head, which made us all laugh (not the kind of measurement you can add to a recipe), and certainly made the occassion memorable. She then went on to make teeny tiny ones the perfect size for her baby doll (that doll ate bacon too, but that's another story). *Note: No brothers or doll babies were harmed in the making of her original pancake creation. We didn't know it at the time, but she's the one who would go on to become an artist...someone always thinking outside of the box.

We didn't have shape molds back then, but if we had, who knows how the kids would have decorated their food creations!! I have them now though,  and even I like to use them to make my food into fun shapes. Breaking them out to put in this T-Fal pan was a blast for me, and do you see how big the pan is? I was able to get all four of my molds in, but if I'd have had more, I could have arranged them to fit more into the pan. That is excellent because it makes an already fast breakfast, even faster to whip up!

I filled the molds about half way up because I like a traditional thickness on my pancakes. Krusteaz is so light and fluffy though, that you could make them even thicker and be just fine!

Pardon my shadow...I was in a hurry to wiggle these out of their shapes and flip before they got too brown. ;)

I also whipped up some traditional round ones that were just the Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix and water (no 'icky stuff' as a certain unnamed person in this house called my SUPER delicious 'extras').

We sat down together to eat our meal, some of us with our fruit and nut covered concoctions...

and the unnamed 9-year-old with his traditional maple syrup only, please pancakes, and all was well. How could it not be with a breakfast like this one? Kudos to Krusteaz and T-Fal.

There's a Giveaway!

One lucky winner gets a delightful 12.5" T-Fal Innovations No-Stick Fry Pan
and Two Boxes of Krusteaz Pancake Mix (Buttermilk & Blueberry).
Giveaway lasts just one week, so hurry to enter! US entrants only.
