Everybody Cut Footloose! THIS Is a Book to Get the Kiddos. So Fun!

When you find out an old movie you used to love has been turned into a children's Picture book, well...that's exciting! Of course, I had to rent the old movie for my kids to see because...well, because the book made me want to see it again, and I knew if they saw it, they'd be excited about this book too. My plan worked. ;)

The book is based on the Kenny Loggins song, and they lyrics remind you of it, making you want to bust out in some Kevin Bacon (or the new guy... I dunno who he is, I haven't seen that version yet) dance moves. :)

I loved the book and would have gladly kept it (in fact, we are going to buy a replacement copy of our own), but a girl in my son's class is named Lucy said she'd never seen her name in a book. She was excited about the prospect of there being one...and so you guessed it, this copy went to her ('tis the season for making kids happy). No regrets, but I'll definitely be glad when we've purchased a new one to have at our house too...and we will be purchasing a new one. :)

The book has drawings that are busy, colorful and fun to see (notice photo above), and there is a CD included (see photo below).

Time to cut loose! Have a rockin' time introducing children to the fun of Footloose, rewritten for children by the one and only Kenny Loggins. As a zookeeper named Jack joins the zoo animals in an all-night dance party, this new original story from Loggins is sure to get your feet moving. Little ones will love the cast of characters, including the rockin' chimp Louise ("Geez, Louise"), Mister DJ Elephant, the lemur Marie ("Oo Wee, Marie"), Milo the wombat, Luke the funkiest cat in the zoo, and so many more rocking, bopping, boogeying, tangoing, shaking, rattling and rolling animals!
To add to the fun, the book includes a CD with new recordings by Kenny Loggins. Kids and parents can sing along to the classic hit with new lyrics, as well as a three-song medley families will love.

  1. That is neat indeed. I can see how the song could lend itself to a kid's book. Blah to the remake though, you're better off never seeing that haha
