An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure: Time to Clean the Gutters!

Gutter Cleaning is one of those things that you really want to get done this time of year, before the holidays set in and make it so you're too busy to get them done. Now I know that climbing up on the roof is never really all that fun. Then, once you're up there on the roof, other challenges will often arise or be noticed, like finding cracked roof tiles, deciding tree branches need to be trimmed, and so on and so forth. That means more work, and since you're up there already, you usually opt to just do it and a one hour job turns into an all-day job. That's why hiring a service to do the work makes good sense! Let a professional make light work of those jobs that could take you an entire day to do, and rest easy that it's being done right.

When you're looking for a service you want to make sure they are licensed, professional and that they have a comprehensive list of things that they will do (not just the gutter cleaning alone). It is worth the investment in your home to have someone come out and not only check the gutters, but also inspect the trees that could affect them, check and/or install gutter guards, do any gutter repairs that need done, and even get those cracked roof tiles mended in no time flat. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and in the case of keeping the house gutters clean, that is very, very true!

  1. haha be worth it to me to have someone else do it so I don't fall off the roof and break my neck, if I had a roof that is.

  2. Oh, the gutters! That is the most disgusting job, lol. You really just pray it's only leaves & yuck and no dead birds.

  4. (An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure: Time to Clean the Gutters!) We missed getting this awful and time consuming job done this past fall. There just was not enough time to get everything all done before winter was here.

  5. Jason put those gutter guards up so we don't have to clean them out anymore. We do have to sweep the leaves off the roof every fall though or they will block the guards, making them ineffective.
