Hurricane Matthew is on its Way

Everyone in the family has their windows boarded up on their houses or their hurricane shutters in place. Those who live in apartments and are unable to do so, are going over to family members' homes who do have them. We're all stocked up on food, propane gas, water, flashlights (headlamp version if you're 9, lol), etc.

Looks like its going to be a doozey of an evening that is predicted to last until sometime tomorrow. My apologies for not visiting blogs or putting up posts this week, but I know you understand. :)

We're hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst.
For those in the same boat (thank goodness we're not in a boat), stay safe!
I'll see you when the sun's shining again!

Fortunately for my state, it will turn south before it hits us.

Thank goodness not in a boat indeed. Hopefully everybody and the properties make it out safe and sound, hunker down.

Stay safe! My nephew lives in Daytona Beach, but I haven't heard how he is.

Stay safe. Praying H.Matthew loses strength or stays out to sea. The news makes it look very scary.

I'm glad you're taking all precautions, sorry for the horrible inconvenience, and sending all my good thoughts that Matthew stays far away from you and civilization.

I'm glad you're well prepared. It sounds as if this could be a very bad storm.

I hope you and your family are safe during this storm. It is now a category 3...hopefully Matthew will turn out to sea very soon. Be safe!

Oh boy! I remember having to evacuate Savannah, GA when a hurricane Floyd happened. It was so scary considering that I was from NE. I so feel for you. I hope all your family stays safe!

I have been watching the news and keeping up with things. Some places are getting hit pretty hard. Not sure where you are located but I hope you stayed safe.
Now I hear there is another hurricane out there right behind Matthew.

May you all stay safe! I was reading that danger continues after the storm passes and carbon monoxide poisoning is a real threat when power is out.

Hi Rosey,

I hope you guys are safe, you are in my prayers.

We did that successfully. :) Thanks for the well wishes, Sandeee!!

You were lucky indeed! We were too.

mail4rosey said...

All's well here, I'm happy to report. Thanks for checking in!

mail4rosey said...

Our whole state got very lucky!

mail4rosey said...

We did a lot of preparing. It didn't hit though, and I'm glad! A lot of stores still don't have electricity, but for the most part we were all very lucky! Thanks for your well wishes!!

mail4rosey said...

Thank you, I'm happy it's over!

mail4rosey said...

I hope you have power. I sent you an e-mail to check on you - hoping that no news is good news ;-)

It sure did a lot of damage where it touched. We were very lucky. Thanks for the well wishes, Robyn. Appreciate it. :)

Thanks, Theresa. Those storms can get so big and then the hype (for good reason if it hits) is huge, so everyone gets all riled up. We prepared for it thoroughly, and that's about all you can do...I'm sure glad it didn't hit though. I'm wondering if Liz and Kenya got any of this mess! I know it went up their way.

mail4rosey said...

We did. Thanks, Lisa!

That storm wobbled a bit at the last minute which directed it away from here. Thank God for a wobble!

mail4rosey said...

Thank you Kristie. You know I appreciate it! :)

mail4rosey said...

It was an awful storm but we got so very lucky. Thanks for stopping over! :)

mail4rosey said...

Sentiments I was happy to agree with from the first second I heard about the storm. :)

mail4rosey said...

All is well. Thanks, Christy!

Floyd was scary. I lived here then and remember it well!! We lost internet for a few days (it's still screwing up) but nothing else, not even electric. We got very, very lucky.

mail4rosey said...

Nicole, I think her name was... thankfully she kept on a movin' :)

mail4rosey said...

We were definitely prepared in every way that we could be. I'm so glad they are able to let us know so far in advance.

mail4rosey said...

They weren't, thank goodness they have no clue how serious a storm like that really could be (I hope they never find out!). Thanks for checking in on us. :)

mail4rosey said...

People cook inside on grills or under patio cover and they get that carbon monoxide. The generators can be dangerous too, even if they're close to an intake valve and the person doesn't realize it!

mail4rosey said...

We are all good here! The storm is gone now (and good riddance to it!). :)

mail4rosey said...

Thank you, Rea. You know I always appreciate those!!

mail4rosey said...

Hey, long time no see!! Thank you and I'm headed over to your blog now. :)

mail4rosey said...

I always appreciate prayers. Thank you!

mail4rosey said...

We had power. The only thing we lost was internet! It's still wobbly (going on and off) but that doesn't matter at all in light of what could have been. Thanks for being such a good blogging friend. I appreciated your e-mail. :)
