Hurricane Matthew is on its Way

Everyone in the family has their windows boarded up on their houses or their hurricane shutters in place. Those who live in apartments and are unable to do so, are going over to family members' homes who do have them. We're all stocked up on food, propane gas, water, flashlights (headlamp version if you're 9, lol), etc.

Looks like its going to be a doozey of an evening that is predicted to last until sometime tomorrow. My apologies for not visiting blogs or putting up posts this week, but I know you understand. :)

We're hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst.
For those in the same boat (thank goodness we're not in a boat), stay safe!
I'll see you when the sun's shining again!

  5. Stay safe. Praying H.Matthew loses strength or stays out to sea. The news makes it look very scary.

    1. Thanks, Theresa. Those storms can get so big and then the hype (for good reason if it hits) is huge, so everyone gets all riled up. We prepared for it thoroughly, and that's about all you can do...I'm sure glad it didn't hit though. I'm wondering if Liz and Kenya got any of this mess! I know it went up their way.

    1. Floyd was scary. I lived here then and remember it well!! We lost internet for a few days (it's still screwing up) but nothing else, not even electric. We got very, very lucky.

Now I hear there is another hurricane out there right behind Matthew.

  18. May you all stay safe! I was reading that danger continues after the storm passes and carbon monoxide poisoning is a real threat when power is out.

    1. People cook inside on grills or under patio cover and they get that carbon monoxide. The generators can be dangerous too, even if they're close to an intake valve and the person doesn't realize it!

    1. We had power. The only thing we lost was internet! It's still wobbly (going on and off) but that doesn't matter at all in light of what could have been. Thanks for being such a good blogging friend. I appreciated your e-mail. :)
