You Can Tune a Piano but You Can't TUNA FISH...

Ha, the title of this post. I can't help myself sometimes. I can't apologize either because it made me laugh. Yes, I am very easily amused. ;) But on to the real deal of what I wanted to talk about... What's in that box? It's a Musical Step-On Keyboard that came from One Step Ahead! What makes it so fabulous? Keep reading...

First of all, the size makes it pretty amazing. This piano, when it is rolled out, is 6-ft.-long. That's a lot of room for a child to be able to step on. In fact, it's so long  you can take it out for a group activity (or use it when you have more than one child who wants to play at the same time).

The keyboard comes with a 'record' option, so children can make their own music. That's nice, right?! With ten pre-made songs, background music, or go-completely-solo features, your child (or you!) can make songs for your child to tap a tune to... think of the possibilities!! So many great options, so little time. :)

Every function is self-explanatory. The 'playback' feature is as easy to understand as the 'record' button you saw in the photograph above. The simple on/off switch is at the top of the keyboard and in bright blue. The color, size and location of this power box provides a good reminder for kids to remember to turn it off when they are finished playing.

There are (8) instrument sounds on the keyboard, all of them defined by pictures so children can connect the sounds to the instruments being played. It's not only great for association learning, it's fun too, so the lessons are going to stick. One of the best kinds of learning is when it's so fun to do, that you don't realize it's being done.

The Volume Control is large and easy to understand. Plus for 'volume up,' and Minus for 'volume down.' Easy peasy for even the youngest of children to operate.

The keyboard spreads out nice and flat on the floor. It doesn't kink up no matter how many times you fold it.

When you do take it out, you're supposed to stand on it, not lie down...but some things are just too hard to resist. At least for a minute or two. ;) You can see how large it is though by taking a look at this picture. My son is 4-ft.-tall and there was still 2-ft. of empty space after his feet that you can't see! Nice and big: I like!

This very durable keyboard provides hours of entertainment for the kids, would be an excellent party idea, or it would even be great for a rainy day. When you're finished playing it folds up nice and small, so you can tuck it away most anywhere.

This keyboard is now not available (bummer, I know!), but it is only one of many, many items One Step Ahead has in their inventory for kids, and it was too fun of an item not to share. Have you heard of the company? If yes, you already know how many amazing things they have...my favorite thing about One Step Ahead is that so many of their items are completely unique. Take for instance this table and chair set I wrote about that is a table, desk, couch and chairs, table and footrest, etc. all in one. Incredible, right? And it's well built too (with no assembly!). I mention that table and chairs often to my friends and family because it's just one of those things you can't get over how great it is... but I digress, I know. :)

Take a look at the One Step Ahead website to see what you might like to bring into your home, or gift to one very lucky child. Whether practical, fun or for a special ocassion, One Step Ahead is the perfect place to go shopping when you want high quality, functional but still unique items for your kids. To keep up-to-date with what's going on at One Step Ahead, you can also follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.
