It's a Celebration! The Lava Lamp Turns 50!!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Look Who's 50!!
The Lava Lamp is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a limited edition Anniversary Collection of lamps, as well as a line of lava lamps inspired by the Beatles. These feature details such as gold accents and updated tech, but they still retain their cool classic shape. These anniversary lamps come in four sizes to fit any househould, and the Beatles lamps come in 5 designs inspired from various albums.

What's fun about owning a Lava Lamp? Set one up and watch the people talk about it as soon as they walk in. These lamps are definitely a conversation starter for those who know and love you, and for those who are visiting anew. I think they'd be great for an office setting too... just an easy way to start off new conversations.

Pretty sure you'd be surprised at the age groups of people who like these lamps too. I thought they were more of a kid thing, but when I got it and turned it on, everyone liked it, including the kids.  I do have to admit, watching the heat turn the 'lava' into floating masses in the liquid was pretty cool.

If you're looking for a funky fun gift idea to get someone, definitely consider a Lava Lamp. :)

You can learn more about the anniversary lamps by visiting the Lava Lamp website. You can follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.

They are fun to watch. The cats get a kick out of them too and of course try to knock them over.

What a lot of fun. Pat has a good suggestion for watching the cats, who love lava lamps, too. I'll be sure to put it in a secure place where it is not easy to knock over.

well, since I am turning 50 I can say I grew up with the lava lamp! I still have one, all black with black lava, haven't used it in awhile so will have to fire it up and celebrate. But will have to check out the new anniversary designs too since they are relaxing to watch-I might just need one for my desk at work.

I always wanted one when I was a kid. Mom would never buy me one, but I would stare at them every time we went to the mall and I saw them in Spencers!

You are right, there is something that draws you to it...
Not sure what it is... they are so neat, I remember them from when I was a kid... and now Broxton looks at them when we go to the mall.
